Flaminsam
hey matty. it may be a idea before draining your car to take it for a slight run first. get the gearbox oil slightly warm and then drop it. if you want your gearbox to last aswel you really need some shockproof gear oil. it is what i have been advised to put in the almera as i am planning to run 350bhp through a fwd box. i believe redline is the best company for it. its a company from the states but top fuel drag racers use it and swear by it for their diffs. 5T4R7ET N/A
you will need 2.5-2.8 litres, so yeah you have to buy three
mattyD
i wont be doing it mate, that will be left to the mechanic who is fitting the lsd plus, im no where near putting 350 break through my gearbox this is the oil that was recommended to me to be used with the quaifeoil
Ryan-11
i always thought it was 1.9 litres?
mattyD
how does a gearbox hold nearly as much oil as the engine anyways?
Flaminsam
this is the stuff i mean matty. its almost bombproof. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1022-redline-l...oil-75w-90.aspxalso think about it his way, the gears are splash fed. no oil pump in there so also not alot of ways to get rid of heat too. so if you have quite alot of oil in there the heat can dissipate better. heat is a major factor with engines and gearboxes. too much can kill it. H_D
the glanza gearbox takes just under 2litres and the gt gearbox takes about 2.5litresthat sounds about right ^
kbond
fitted a new gearbox in mine earlier on today, its 1.9litres mate
5T4R7ET N/A
didnt realise that glanza gearbox's are so different in terms of holding gearbox oil. i thought they were the same as most of the other gearbox's like gt, paseo and uk spec starlets.
