I have an autobahn 88 front mount sitting in my bedroom since last november because I haven't bought a ct9 hot pipe for it yet. It's setup using a custom made short route pipe for a k24 blitz turbo. But I plan on installing it behind the bumper of my gt turbo and not cutting the grills out. Just have to trim the back of the bumper a little bit for piperwork and nobody sees that sure.

Really like to see how raffa's is set up! Ive got a hdi front mount and find its far too large for the power its going to be running my mate had a sierra cosworth running twice the power and half the size of the hdi and it went like a slag!

Just to add I fitted a Toyosports FMIC the other day and with a bit of pissing about with the core i got it to fit without cutting the bumper :) Bonus! just the way i like it

Did you have to make custom brackets for the intercooler ? that looks sweet by the way just the look i want

No i used the brackets supplied but i did have to cut and shape the main bracket that bolts on top of the intercooler!

If you can get the intercooler core behind the crash bar then your bumper should fit without cutting :)

And cheers im getting abit to old for the cut out bumper thing now and just wanted to keep it looking factory :)

i will try and get some pics of it this sunday as the pics on the phone are not a good angle and need better close up, might just do a quick video of it instead. also got the mesh guard on the intercooler to stop crap damaging it and increasing surface area for cooling.

wherew are these pictures i want to see this! my mate ran 1.7bar on escort s2 rs turbo with a pace intercooler which would be the same idea as this

Does it hinder the performance of the front mount with a numberplate stuck infront of it?

I've seen a mag feature before where the guy drilled loads of small holes in the lettering on his front plate; you couldn't tell unless you got right upto it but obviously it let all the airflow through. Thought it looked pretty sweet meself! :)

Nah not realy! if you think about it the two pipes either side of the intercooler are the main intake pipes! And the number plate isnt covering the core near them two intake pipes so it should get all the cooloing it neads!

If i was runnig 1.7bar and i needed all the cold air i could get then id be worried!..At the end of the day the stock TMIC only has a little vent/scoop to get its cold air but it still manages to work! and work well with the likes or the ARC and Rx7 intercoolers

This is the sort of think i want to do im going to be going td04 but want to reduce lag so short as possible pipe work and a fmic thats not huge but can still easily cope with the power

My main goal is to try and reduce the lag as much as possible and not be waiting around for the power to kick in at the end of the day its only a 1.3 and without that turbo boosting you you arent going anywhere!

Dont go with hd cooler, i had all sorts of tools out that day cutting the bumper :) dremmel out after to tidy up of course

I've actually got a jperformance fmic now, same design as the Hdi, as you say it takes a lot of cutting but I think it looks amazing just bulging out of the front haha

Hdi coolers are best for powers gains also?
