Dickydan
Yeah come without bump strips mate and yeah rolla mani sounds good to me and in the end itll be a v mate well a v rep with gt lump and v turbo
PaulStarletSR
with a gt lump and v turbo? the only difference in gt and v engines is the slightly earlier gt lumps had slight thicker rods, turbos are the same
morgey
There is a slight differenceCt9a vs ct9b (98 spec)Whether it would be noticeable is hard to call
ryan lang
yeah the models are different, wether they make any difference is a mystery. be nice to see if some one can get hold of each and test them
PaulStarletSR
u no what i mean, dont split hairs
ryan lang
im agreeing with both of you just saying there are 2 diff models, but there are no proven differences
Dickydan
I know about the con rods bein thicker in early gt lumps and i heard the ct9b ( late model ) is slightly more stronger? Not boost wise i ment like slightly harder to break but hey im not the expert here!! Just what i gathered forthe 2-3 years i been in here just snooping when my bro had his gt
morgey
I thought the vains or what ever where of a slightly different design to help with the spooling up slightly, help get the V's up to speed. Again might just be something I've read but has no back bone to? LolJust googled it, B has 9 blades A has 8 on exhuast and the compressor side B has tightly spaced blades, like 4 sets of 2 and A has widely spaced blades more like 8 individual blades. Not sure what effect this would have though? Lol Edited January 24, 2013 by morgey
ryan lang
no clue, ive got a ct9b (with a massive waste gate crack) if any one wishes to repair and test it against a ct9a? lol. also have a hybrid ct9b
Dickydan
Yeah thats what i thought morgey but i heard also last longer ?? I dno but i heard the ct9b is very very slightly betterthan a ct9a
Ryan5793
looks a tidy base to start with, look forward to see what ya do with it
Dickydan
Yeah wil deffo be gettin a rolla mani and glanza v passenger rear light
Chris Green
Looks tidy pal, health to enjoy!
Amjad
Looks clean man, nice to see the ugly bumpstrips are readily gone! Give it a polish and wax, it'll come up really nicely! First thing I'd do is get some GT/Glanza front discs and caliper carriers (calipers are same as NA), it's a really good upgrade for the brakes, the NA stock items are CRAP Rear Anti-Roll bar, strut braces, good alloys.tyres and you have a fun little car. Get the braking and handling safe as it's a big weak point on the NAs IMO I know about the con rods bein thicker in early gt lumps and i heard the ct9b ( late model ) is slightly more stronger? Not boost wise i ment like slightly harder to break but hey im not the expert here!! Just what i gathered forthe 2-3 years i been in here just snooping when my bro had his gtThe Glanza and (I think MK3 GTs) had thinner rods, but I read on TGTT that they were made of a different material to give them the same strength as the MK1 thicker rods
Dickydan
Ahh right my bro had a mk 1 gt teah deffo be gettin gt discs and carriers mate... anyone upgrading their discs soon? I dont mind taking hand me downs lmao! Aslong as they aint too worn!
Amjad
I'm using the ones that came on my GT, stock discs with Greenstuff pads I was using in the NA before and they're so much better than before. Even good conditionn used ones will be okay and shouldn't cost a lot
Dickydan
Just got it home i put £15 in it and it went up o the first notch above empty?!?! Drove 44 miles not giving it up only little tiny burst nw nd then and its in empty?!?!? Gauge fucked?
Taggy
yeah i would say so the NA's should do a million miles a gallon
Dickydan
Hmmm easy fix or?
PaulStarletSR
have you left it parked at an angle to the right hand side? if so, park it flat and your gauge will sort itself out
Dickydan
Naa its parked straight mate and it was like it when i was driving :/
Amjad
Check your tyre pressure, oil level I get 300 to a tank (100 from indicated half to near empty)
