Matts Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Wandering if anyone has experienced any engine damage after upgrading to corolla inlet manifold on our n/a engines surely on standard injectors it'll knock the air fuel ratio out and run lean? Wandering if any damage has ever been done or other things that could go wrong? Quote
morgey Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 The map sensor should compensate for any differences that mani would have. Nothing to worry about really Quote
Amjad Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 You are way too cautious haha 4efe's are bombproof Quote

rob_bower Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) Matt I had the rolla mani and lots of other bits in my n/a and I drove it hard everywhere for 58,000 miles and it was still running perfectly when I took it out. Edited March 12, 2013 by rob_bower Quote
rmsnoel Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 4efe and 5efe use the same injectors. It only is lean between 2000_3000 rpm for fuel economy, the rest of the time its actually.quite rich Quote
rmsnoel Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Plus youve just used a manifold from another 4efe so not much difference. Keep the standard airbox and pipework though. Quote

ryan lang Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 abuse forr all 3 but possibly too much fiddling for me and sparky, and not enough maintenance for dave lol Quote
rmsnoel Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Thanks for this buddy air box with after market panel filter maybe what's your thoughts on this?Yes. If you want you can cut away the inch or so inside the airbox where the airfeed comes in. Quote
DaveyDemolition Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 abuse forr all 3 but possibly too much fiddling for me and sparky, and not enough maintenance for dave lol agreed! hitting the limiter in every gear for two years, and not having enough oil when it went bang. not a good mix ;) Quote

Dickydan Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) im getting the filter off him guys, hks filter with standard airbox.. shall i drill a few holes or leave it as it is?? like does it make much difference really? Edited March 18, 2013 by Dickydan Quote
rmsnoel Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Dont drill holes in it, thats for old novas or minis not modern cars. You can however cut away the wee lip just above where the air comes into the box. Its the only flat part youll see inside the box Quote
Chris Green Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 they arent welshboy proof though! me, davey and sparky all managed to muller ours haha Your Corolla mani is still alive Ryan! Matts has it now Quote
