Malcolm GT
Am I the only one who thinks people who buy these cars just to break into a million pieces are dicks? Boils my piss
bucketep91
I just baught one to break. Its been written off and has engine problems but im using most of it to rebuild a rolling shell. Edited July 21, 2013 by bucketep91
daniel_g
It rips me up man honestly, fair enough if the car is smashed up or whatever but buying a fully working mint car for the sole purpose of breaking fucking winds me right up.
daniel_g
I sold parts off mine after the engine blew up, but the shell was in awful condition, panels riveted on, unpainted wing etc. Stripped to its balls inside. It couldn't have really been saved unfortunately.
TrisK
The one I stripped had no engine, mismatching pannels and a side full of fillerTo rip apart a mint one is a shame but you can't deny there is money in it I'm afraid
TurboTobz
Ya, sometimes acceptable most times not. Worst things when the shells cut up and crushed or whatever for coke cans
Flynn
Yes they are dicks.

Ryan-11
I dont mind it to be honest, just means after time it will only b the good ones left and less common
daniel_g
The only upside i can see it very good quality and readily available parts, hands up if you've bought something off a breaker... The ones i cant stand are those ebay breakers who have nothing to do with the starlet community at all, and break the really good mint starlets. I was sickened by one a few months back who was telling me over the phone he was currently breaking a red MK1, a two tone MK1, a GT advance, purple Glanza and a load more !! Its his hobby. Prick. shorty
Awesome imo! I say have a cull and make our starlets go up in value. I broke my old v to pay of debt, as know one would pay me what it cost to build by a mile and then the shell whent to the crusher as no one wanted that either. Was a perfectly mint 205 black sunroofbeddition v. Meh is what it is. Think how few good ae86's are left. Good ones are 8k plus easy!! Camt wait till most of the starlets are dead and ours are worth crazy money.

Mate you know what, there's one on ebay atm, white glanza, its ONLY just been imported and its being broken. WTF? Why get a fresh import and then break it? Whats the point? This one : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BREAKING-SPARES-1999-TOYOTA-STARLET-GLANZA-EP91-WHEEL-NUT-FRESH-IMPORT-/121095482627?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c31da6d03 Edited July 21, 2013 by AdamB
daniel_g
Its a crying shame, that one ^^ has still got jap plates on ffs. If you run starlet breaking through donedeal.ire then theres about a million ads. Also Adam i knew your black one would get broken by whoever bought it
AdamB
It is a shame.I've messaged the seller asking if there's anything wrong with the car and would he sell it whole. Don't see the point in spending all that time to buy and import one to just break it over here. Its a 99 spec as well so it says. Ay I got nothing to say on that pal lol. I needed the space as I was getting a white shell, it's just a shame that good cars are just basically being weighed in. Plenty of spares floating about for these motors and it doesn't take much to get one going again. It's on ebay now and looks a right fucking mess

AdamB
Got a message back from the person breaking that 99 spec on ebay : "Hi,This is a straight car nothing wrong with it, i dont sell full cars onl break them for partsregards"

StuDoc 72
Should be fucking ashamed of themselves. As a fresh import with little to no mods as it would appear in the pics can there even be any money in breaking it? A fresh import is hardly cheap and other than the engine there arent many valuable parts on there, fair doos he will be charging ebay prices to people who dont know any better but still he would probably stand to make more selling the car as a whole. AdamB
For a fresh import is probably around £3500 if they imported it themselves. Agree the engine is the most expensive part on the car, but I see a lot of engines on ebay for like £900 which will never sell and it's mad to pay that kinda price. £5-600 tops for a good working low mileage engine. The rest of the car is worth nothing really and it will just be little tickets of money £30 here and £50 there. Such a waste. Might message him back and just say I'll give you £1200 for the whole car and get it out your hair.
iamlegend
I love it More goodies to buy YO
StuDoc 72
To be fair if its as nice as it looks and the mileage is low enough you could pay £2500 for that and you would still have won a watch. These used to be on pistonheads for £5k. Its mainly down to the mileage. Someone nearby has to go inspect it and bring back some info.
