Ollieh17
I used paint that was supposed to be straight to metal like a hammerite. Pissed off now its in the car and cant clean it lol
mikey4410
for the people asking about prepparing the gearbox for spraying, i used various sizes of wire brush drill attachments for getting into tiny snug areas to really bare metal the alloy, then after areas properly cleaned I wiped over thoroughly with brake and carb cleaner. as for the paint it is just aluminium coloured standard spray paint from a1 motorspares.made sure as always to heat up the metal with a hairdryer before spraying to makesure proper adhesion and look.works real well and easy to do. in other news the oil change was a success and i took a picture of the magnetic sump plug as there were people interested in seeing just what they catch on the end. heres the piccy Edited January 23, 2015 by mikey4410
