1991 starlet owner
Hello all..So as the title says.. Why couldn't they have made more RWD starlets?? Would have been immense!!!! Anyone agree??Tom.
Addymk2
Yeah but then the cost would have risen,it's more expensive to manufacture a rwd beast, the older starlets are rwd as at the time it was the norm
MARC MOSS
Would have been crazy, everything should be rwd....
Jamie1st
As Marc has said. Should be RWD only for all cars..Wouldn't have spent so much on this FWD then!!
GP82
It's the correct way to drive i agree, but with all the gadgets you can have for the transmission, driveline and suspension, you can't go much wrong with FWD. Each to their own i guess, but RWD would be a hell of a lot of fun regarding driving pleasure. Majority of the BTCC race cars are FWD drive and they do really well for the amount of power they run. The KP series are RWD and theres folk who set them up for drift and grip driving and it looks like a lot of fun!

I.e weight ballasts on board
GP82
Hey i am not sure about this, but i think the top 3 or 4 drivers carry a weight handicap into the next race.
daniel_g
Soooo tempted to make my 85 RWD after a watching Browners vids of his grey one
Starlet__SR
There'd be too many finding their way into hedges/ditches if they were RWD. Short wheel base and RWD dont go that well together lol.Day
Azz
Ep95 take the front driveshafts out = RWD ! The btcc cars only carry ballast for there position on the previous race.Rwd has some advantages but so has fwd
Flynn
Would have been crazy, everything should be rwd.... As Marc has said. Should be RWD only for all cars..Wouldn't have spent so much on this FWD then!!lol are these genuine opinions?
daniel_g
I think there might be slightly more work than that Azz. Pretty sure the VC would have to go. I might have a play about with it next year.

Jamie1st
lol are these genuine opinions? If they would be as fun as all my cheap RWD run arounds then yes!Can go out and buy a £500 BMW and have smiles from ear to ear, for my Glanza to do that, I'm now £££££'s in lol
1991 starlet owner
Yeah would be sweet!! The chassis on a Beemer I'm told are brilliant though and the short wheel base of the starlet would be ditch friendly I imagine but good fun no doubt!

Anything is possible! But like you say, 80% of people will end up in the ditch. Lag lag lag boost, ditch haha Edited November 5, 2013 by Jamie1st
