cturner93 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Hi, does anyone know if a 2jz conversion has been done to a starlet? Would love to do it to an ep95 and fit the glanza body kit Quote
morgey Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Never going to happen, try a inline 4 cylinder Quote
jtaylor1990 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Hahaha. Sorry had to laugh. No chance. If u can afford to go to extreme lengths to fit a 2JZ then u can afford to just buy a supra. Problem solved. That engine is almost bigger than a starlet anyway. Quote
turbo Grant Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Welder springs to mind. It will fit then Quote
AdamB Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Move the bulkhead back, fit an ae86 rear axle, job done lol. Edited December 27, 2013 by AdamB Quote
rwdrev Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 think its been done to a gash looking starlet over in malta/gozo. Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Some one asked the very same question last week about a ep3 type r on another forum Quote
daniel_g Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 You can probably do it on Forza lol, if there was starlets, they make engine conversions look easy, drop a V8 in a Skyline a drive off 2 mins later lol. Ben was that on CL ? Bet he got ripped if it was haha. Quote
cturner93 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Look i was asking a genuine question yea. Nothing is impossible, e.g r8 v10 in a mk4 golf thats been done. Its funny when folk come out with crack like face palm and wont fit because they turn out to be the dafties Quote

DevonGT Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 e.g r8 v10 in a mk4 golf But what was the cost? Quote
turbo Grant Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 The engine bay would look like a r5 gordini. They have a snug cut out in the bulk head. The gear box is on the front of the engine lol Quote
jtaylor1990 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Yeah calm down dude its only a bit of banter. You are right, nothing is impossible however,as someone stated above, cost would be insane and u would be far better just buying something with that engine already installed. Not to mention such power in a short wheel base car would mean it would handle incredibly shit and be almost impossible to drive unless in a straight line Quote
morgey Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 A 2jz, gearbox and rear axle would be longer than the car, that's why it hasn't been done. Like I said be better off getting ya self a knackered ae86 and making all that gear fit. Quote
rwdrev Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 think theres been a 2jz mini aswell, or the 1nz or what ever the other code is. anything is possible, just go for it. Quote
aidanep71 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 There's a lad here in irl with a 1jz mini so I'm sure a starlet could be done Quote
Kooms Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Im sure if you had the time and money it can be done. I done a quick google search and im sure this is a KP starlet correct me if im wrong tho. http://www.razine.com/community/consultas-mecanicas/73782-glanza-2.html Quote
Xpect Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) In that link someone actually complains that engine amd gearbox are longer than a Glanza. I see some resemblance here. And look atthat. The guy ignored it and just did it.Oh and yes the pics are of a KP61. I'm really glad to understand a bit spanish and am fluent in english Edited January 1, 2014 by Xpect Quote
Azz Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Could you not just cute the front off and make a spaceframe, mount the engine further forward, get rid of 4wd and make it rwd.Don't see why not, anything can be done Quote
Xpect Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 The KP had the wall between cell and engine cut up and welded further back. Quote
