Cheers folks. Yes Calum we'll be at the main events.

Update

Over the last few weeks I've tried more things to get to the bottom of the boost creep issue but had no luck. The waste gate was sent for testing and given the all clear. I also tried a different waste gate on it just to completely rule it out but that's didn't help either. I've fitted a 0.6 spring now, it hits full boost at 4k RPM and then slowly creeps to 0.76 by 5k RPM.

Other than that, I decided to take her to Japfest last minute. The interior was quite dusty so it was all washed with the carpets and seats out. I also replaced the carpet as the old one had a few stains.

Japfest was done by around 5pm and we didn't want to go straight home, so we spent the night in London. Typical tourist picture:

Covered 600 miles all in and even with the boost creep issue, it was a good drive.

Also, I think I have also found the root of the problem, I'll see if it's sorted this weekend and report back!

I did spot you guys at Japfest this year. Had a good look at the motor and it was looking sweet. I didn't get a chance to come over and say hello though :\ Maybe next time :D Wanted to thank you personally for your help and service @IDWorkz :D It's appreciated.

Fitment on those alloys works so well!

I normally hate wider wheels on Starlet's but they look perfect!

Thank you Dave, I'm glad you approve!

You're most welcome mate, send me your phone number before JF2 and I'll make sure we meet there (if you're going)!

Saw the turbo posts, was that at fault?

Would be good to see you on track with us, it us, session J is nearly all sold out!

If I buy tickets now, my car won't be ready in time. It's just how my luck seems to work. If any pop up last minute, I'll buy them as long as the cars sorted in time.

waitin to hear wat was the boost creep issue....

Still haven't got the problem sorted I'm afraid. I've fitted a new manifold kit which has improved the situation but hasn't fully cured the issue. I'll update with pictures shortly. :)

Finally, an update.

A few new parts

WEPR Ram Horn Kit

TiAL F38

TF035 Turbo

JP FMIC (unmodified)

I had the car mapped again last week and it made a whopping 153WHP @ 1.2 bar.

Torque vs. Power

Torque vs. AFR

I know it's a low reading Dyno but 153 is still laughable. Undecided where to go from here!

Did you try removing the boost solenoid of the avc-r to see if thats messing things up?

That AFR plot aint great either. Not sure why its been mapped like that. Way to rich low down in the revs off boost. Wont be doing your spool any favours either.

Sorry about the lack of updates here.

I found the problem with the car; it turned out to be the mapper (Will @ RDT). He mapped the car badly twice. See more details here: Click

10th October 2015

I had the car mapped by Matt @ TRL Developments on the same setup as above. No issues to report, and she made a healthy 251 BHP / 220ft lb @ 1.15 bar.

I haven't got any more graphs yet but I'll update you all when I do. The car drives amazingly. It's safe to say I have fallen back in love. I could now focus on other areas.

I fancied a set of Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2's and Aamir just happened to have a nice set in 15 x 7". He kindly donated them to me and I had them powder coated Candy Blue.

P1080181_zpsc0zhw2ut.jpg

Next on the list was to fit a few suspension parts that I had gathered a while ago. This included Whiteline ALK, SuperPro front bushes, new ball joints and new track rod ends. I also had the wishbones powder coated black to keep them fresh (pics coming soon).

Toyota%20Starlet%20Glanza%20GT%20Turbo%2

Once these bits were on, I fitted the new wheels with new Toyo T1R's and had the wheel alignment done.

Next was to focus on the interior. I fitted a set of SR3 Recaro Confetti's on Recaro rails, a matching arm rest and a nice Nardi steering wheel to finish things off. I also fixed annoying little issues such as the interior light and fused bulbs in the speedo. It's the little things that count! Interior pictures to follow.

29th October 2015

Me and Uzzy went to Belgium for Super Sunday at Circuit Zolder. Unfortunately we didn't get any track time as it was sold out but it was still a great event. The car performed a trouble free 1250 miles in the space of a few days. A few random pictures below.

Car looks so good on those wheels! I'm glad you're able to enjoy your main demo car for once!

How do you rate the TF035 vs a TD04L? I'm not sure which to go for on the GT (daily and track use), swaying towards the TF035 at the moment..

I cant believe the previous mapper was so bad! How does he earn a living!

Must feel like a animal compared to before

The alloys look good, compliments the graphics real nice.

It's been a while..

The Glanza has mainly been parked in the unit throughout winter. Japfest prep was left to the last minute, as always.

First up, ID-Workz style Cruise bonnet (now fitted with aerocatches)

BAE41CE5-C786-4A90-9D08-2CDBFA2D04C0_zps

Next was a new MOT and 4-wheel Hawkeye wheel alignment. I went with -0.5 degrees of negative camber for now.

535ABDC7-ADDE-4AC2-B290-8E6A4F410008_zps

Lastly an engine and gearbox oil change. Mobil1 10w60 engine oil and Lucas 75w90 for the gearbox with the addition of oil stabilizer as it's starting to whine a little. That will get rebuilt or replaced soon. (Mileage reads 130,123 for my own reference)

I won't be at Japfest but Uzzy will be there with Aamir and Tayyib.

Thanks Amjad, we'll see how it feels on Silverstone at Japfest tomorrow although I won't driving so I'll get feedback from my brother.

I gave her a much needed wash today, bonnet pins are now fitted too.
