_shaun_
it should have the sticker on it there serial numbers wont help. the seals on the side are a good sign its aftermarket

_shaun_
some of these ecus have a uv chip on them so if there opened it wipes the map on them, so by opening you run the risk of breaking it. short of it having a jam sticker theres noway to tell if its a jam ecu

daniel_g
Dont open the seals, some of these ECUs have UV light sensitive chips that get wiped by light. Also nobody in their right mind would buy an ECU with broken seals. If it does all the things a P&P does, raise RPM limit, remove speed cut, raise/remove fuel cut etc. Then its gotta be a P&P no matter if its got stickers or not. Skimmy237
Yea I wouldn't open it don't worry, but surely there must be another way of checking it's a jam or not ? You said the seals at the side are a good sign ?
_shaun_
there a good sign of it being a play and play ecu but again not jam as jam seals said jam on them,
Skimmy237
Does anyone know what kind this is then ?
_shaun_
have you looked at the otherside to see if theres markings on it
mikey4410
close up of the tape seals ?
Aamir
Why not contact Craig and ask him what it really is?
_shaun_
looking at it again i think that it might actualy just been the sticky residue of the tamper prove seals that is left. a close up off the seal going over the join aswell to see if it is a seal or just the remains of one. mikey4410
oh dear.well let us all know of any updates dude
daniel_g
Does it do anything that P&Ps do ?
Skimmy237
It doesn't hit fuel cut and it has upped the revs and all that other stuff ? It's like Chinese symbols over the seals and there's no stickers on the back Also Craig said it's a jam
JDMfreak
these are called shop special ecu's the go by othe names aswell there built and modded by little tuning shops in japan there basically cheaper than jam/blitz/sard analyse and other brands from the outside they look identical to a stock ecu and some have seals and some have small stickers on them so be wary when you spot them with odd stickers there not stock ecu'sinside of a stock 4efte ep91 ecuinside of a modded ecu as you can see the extra board that's been fittedwhat your ecu might be as the sticker seals look similar size on either side
Glanza-Ben
As said on Facebook my bets are it's a later jam one Edited March 11, 2014 by Glanza-Ben
Skimmy237
Yea Ben mine looks identical to that one
Gainzy
Looks like Jam to me from the seals, how much value deduction would that make the ecu on market? I had to have a sticker made up for mine so when I come to sell it, I don't expect the £500 mark...
lukEp
It's a JAM ecu I opened it up when Craig had it he asked me to open my JAM ECU up and compared the chips and they looked identical. ;)
