If anyone wanted to post me there old copy Had a few magazines get in touch about a feature when it's all done, so looking forward to that. Avalaugh
Here's some pics of my finished head work, also got some Tomei cans and adjustable pulleys for it too. Also done a fair bit of work to the combustion chambersLots more pics here for those interestedhttp://s66.photobucket.com/user/avalaugh/library/4ageThe list of things that need modifying to get all this working is huge, don't start it unless you can finish it

Avalaugh
The old wheels have already been sold I'm afraid.Yes I done the head myself, took over 20hrs to complete, I'm sure some folks will pick holes in it, but I done my research and im happy with the finished product, hopefully the dyno results will speak for themselves
maddox710
That looks great for home job I'm currently doing my 4e head gotta Alot of hours into it just finishing polishing the combustion Chambers
Stu
Looking good dude - what the bottom end specs? If you need any 4age advice yell out. Sorry i havent read it all but what diff are you running? The T50 gearbox is a good choice as long as its the larger spline version. I've driven a couple of KPs with W5* boxes and they just feel too heavy (they needed it for the power they were making) but the T50s feel crisp. Another option later down the track is the 6 speed from an Altezza - a mate of mine is making the adapter kits.
aaddzz123
Some serious hours have been put into that head. Great work mate! I was going to port my head whilst it was off but never looked into having it flow tested or how much it would cost. I also read up quite a few different methods on the porting and how much should really be done and where you shouldn't port as much to add turbulence into the chambers... It was all a little too much for me having never done it and thought I'd leave it this time round... But if you have any knowledge that you would share, I'm all ears and eager to learn something for next time haha .Top work! And congratulations to you both, best wishes for your future together

It's a 4.1 ratio though Bottom end is just stock.I don't know what T50 box it is, tell me the spline sizes and I'll measure mine, would be good to know.
Avalaugh
aaddzz123Best bit of advice is to get another head, and just get stuck in, do some research, watch some YouTube vids and enjoy. This is the 2nd head I've done, the first was a mazda MX5 which I ended up turbo charging, there's a load of pictures in my photobucket of that too.I removed too much material on that head, but still worked great, and was a good learning curve. I find it very rewarding doing heads.
Stu
Is it still the standard KP diff? Or upgraded to T series? T series is ideal if you can, or even a G series from a Hilux but you'll need to shorten it. Just to confuse things theres two axle sizes for T series diffs too. With the T50 box, just check the output spline count - 22 spline is the larger and stronger variety, they also do a 20 spline which while still way stronger than a K50 isn't as good as a 22 spline. Avalaugh
It's really taking shape now.I've fitted the yamaha R1 fuel pump !Prop shaft has been modified to suit, exhaust has been finished inc modding the manifold to suit Gearbox mount has been moddedRadiator mounts fabricated and rad installed Loving the engine bay now, also have the rad top mounts made up, and in the process of doing a stainless steel bonnet stay also. All this work has lead me onto getting some custom coil overs made up by GAZ SHOCKS.Better suspension also warrants better brakes, so que the custom 1 off WILWOOD set up, shocks and brakes should be ready in a few more weeks.
