it was the flag of imperial Japan. It's more like Brits putting the old royal Union flag on our cars.

Unlike the nazi insignia which was specific to a certain era and government. The imperial flag was used long before the world wars.

I didn't know that about the rising sun either. I'm sure Steve king would have stopped them doing it if they thought it might be offensive to them. Japanese people appear very laid back. They don't take offence very easily and have a laugh with pretty much everything... Plus they're rebellious. They go drifting in the mountains and put stollen tram handles on their cars haha. It's just part of their style.
