BJShipley Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I love all their videos and this ones awesome! I'd love to go to Japan buy a car and just fuck about with it with no care! Can't wait for this season Quote
FMuscle Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I just can't believe Japanese people let them do that to the bonnet... I'm speechless. Quote
FMuscle Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) It's like a german putting the Nazi sign on his car... Does no one know what it means? The rising-sun flag has been the symbol of Japan's militaristic imperialism, and still serves to be the symbol of Japanese Self-Defense Forces. However, there are recent phenomena to utilize the symbol in fashion or in international sporting events although it is considered extremely offensive in countries of former Japanese imperialism as it reminds Japan's former war crimes. MARC MOSS Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Well there you go lol I never knew that either !I'd rather have the German one myself it looks better Quote
NewbieLewby Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 it was the flag of imperial Japan. It's more like Brits putting the old royal Union flag on our cars.Unlike the nazi insignia which was specific to a certain era and government. The imperial flag was used long before the world wars. Quote
MaxGT Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Love it! Can't help but think what if they're messing with their culture a bit? Maybe not.Great episode and the car looked amazing at the end Quote
aaddzz123 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I didn't know that about the rising sun either. I'm sure Steve king would have stopped them doing it if they thought it might be offensive to them. Japanese people appear very laid back. They don't take offence very easily and have a laugh with pretty much everything... Plus they're rebellious. They go drifting in the mountains and put stollen tram handles on their cars haha. It's just part of their style. Quote
