The body looks rock solid....

The handbrake cables need a little more play ( space ) because there too long for the ep7. And if your handbrake feels sloppy when you pull the lever.

Try to fit some washers onder the adjustable nut for the lever... It will feel a lot better when you do so.

Do you use the ep8 splitter or the ep7 ?

If you are going to use a power cable for front to back. Grab a double shielded cable with an thickness of at least 35mm2 .

What kinda intercooler are you planning to go for ? bumper mod ? or small one ?

Thanks very much for the tips much appreciated! Mounted the cables up on the clips now but not on the callipers yet I'll bare it in mind when I adjust the handbrake though

I have some double shielded 175 amp cable that I've ran in already. I use the same stuff in my advance with no problems so should be ok. Got a killswitch in line too.

Splitter is the standard one. All bodywork is standard apart from the ep70 spoiler I got from browner.

As for inter cooler, planning on using a very small one to save bumper mods. It's going to be Ct9 to start with Anyways so doesn't need a massive one. Can fit a fan on it too if need be.

Don't destroy small bumper, looks horrible when cutted or cooler sticking out of valance. CT9 don't need huge cooler...

No I'm definitely not doing anything to the bumper, I will make it fit without bumper modifications!

I'm hoping to get a small core for the CT9, fingers crossed!

Bit more progress! managed to brush out the crap and surface rust that was in the spare wheel well. gave it a coat of rust stabiliser and a going over with some white stonechip. looks much better!

Also Sam kindly ran me some new copper brake lines to the rear as the original ones needed replacing. He used the good brake flaring tool from his work. Also made up some braided lines for the rear. So the brakes are all ready to be bled up, just need to swap he handbrake clips from another set of rear callipers and we're good to go.

Lif pump and fuel filter are mounted behind the fuel tank, and a new feed to the front ran in (using the standard feed as the return to the tank). Started running the fuel lines up through the wheel well to the swirl pot, but it proved difficult to drill through!

I built up the swirl pot, fitted the R32 GTR sard pump etc, so that's sat in place properly now. Sam found a spare relay to use for the two pumps, I also fitted a 30A fuse in line from the power from the battery. I'd ran the signal wire in a while ago so that was already there. Hopefully get some fuel in her at some point and test the flow to the front, make sure the swirl pot fills enough etc.

So essentially the brake system is finished, the fuel system is 90% complete. Bit more wiring to do at the front end but progress is progress!

Yeah I need to get some pics but ive more or less made the exhaust up, just need to weld flanges on. welded it up all myself so it's not pretty but i'll probably just heat wrap it, you can't see it anyways.

Radiator is mounted, again welded the bottom mount to the cross member and the welds aren't pretty but you can't see them.

All fuel lines, fpr, etc are on, just needs the system priming and checking for leaks, I've just put some fresh fuel in too as the tank was dry from brazing the other fittings on. send unit is back in the tank so I need to hook the battery up to check the fuel level works haha

Engine and gearbox are filled with oil, wiring is pretty much done just needs the ecu and brake level warning earths trimming down and mounting.

Brakes are all done and bled up, handbrake is adjusted up.

Need to swap the old ball joints for some new ones I have on the shelf as I think they've seen better days.

Intercooler sill needs mounting up and hot pipe making up from the turbo. I have the flange and pipe just need to mount the intercooler first.

Getting close!

So here's an update on the current situation with the EP70! I've recently ben in Canada for 2 weeks, and was working late shifts before that, but Sam has been finishing a few things off bless him.

Brakes are all bled up, handbrake is adjusted up.

Clutch is bled up.

Fuel system is finished and tested, everything works with no obvious leaks at this stage.

Exhaust has been made up and fitted. I did nearly all of the welding, I'm not a welder lol. It's ugly but doesn't seem to blow.

Radiator has ben mounted in position, I welded the bottom bracket to the cross member- again, it's ugly but you can jack the car up from it now so it's unlikely to fall off!

I sprayed the scuttle panel purple to match the bay

Fitted new balljoints

Sam made a little bracket for the Hot/Cold valve on the heater pipe

Issues... So looking at the wiring diagram, it seemed that the signal wire for the fuel pump was a switched earth. When I was soldering the wire into pin 4 on the ECU plug the ticker pump and swirl pot pump were priming... then when I plugged the ECU in they were running continuously lol. They get their power directly from the battery so even without the ignition on etc. Massive problem! So I tried switching the signal wire onto the main EFI power and it worked. yay. I'm still apprehensive about the fuel system as it's been such a massive retro-fit I know there are likely to be leaks etc but all seems good so far.

Went to prime the engine with oil by turning it over with no spark or fuel but the starter motor had a crap earth so fixed that and it turned really well, oil light went off.

Stuck some spark plugs in there and temporarily mounted the coilpack, and it fired first turn of the key! There were a few vac lines off the inlet so it revved up and down, turned it off and blanked them all up. Second try it fired first flick of the key and ticked over like a good 'un! sounded well, no obvious leaks or problems so far. Ran it for a few mins without issues.

I've since dropped the oil and changed the filter. no swarf on the magnetic sump plug.

Anyway- pics

Just need to mount the intercooler, finish off putting the interior back together, finish off clamping up all the power steering hoses and stuff.

Thanks guys, intercooler is being fitted now, welding bend to the core due to lack of clearance. looking well though, i'll get some pics up when it's done. aluminium is very unforgiving to weld especially having only welded a few times before haha, the grinder has been out a few times...

Made good use of the bank holiday getting this ready for MOT. dash is back in, I wired in the wideband, boost controller and boost gauge. Fitted a fog light for MOT, ran in some speaker wires in preparation for when I get a head unit today. wired the horn in, fitted the steering wheel. had it on the floor and drove around the units to wash it as it was grafted from storage! clutch bite is very low so that needs adjusting slightly. brakes seem fine but handbrake needs slight adjustment, too much travel on the lever but it works fine. seems to start run and drive very well so far! the front needs lifting as it catches on the arches on lock but I've not adjusted these coilovers since buying them so will set them all tonight hopefully. Need to source the right rad cap for it but all is good!

Mot this week!
