A bit curious about the power to weight ratio
Phil replied to TheAmerican's topic in Lifestyle General
no prob, good luck and dont be afraid to post up when you start looking at EP82/91s plenty of knowledge and past owners here and Toyotagtturbo who may be able to shed some light on your potential purchases Phil -
who is doing this work>? and is this a list of what they are telling you they will do? id be keen for them to explain throats 2mm mimic 1.5 oversized valves? Just to make sure it wasnt a typo that they would open the seat up leaving you requiring a MIN of 1.5mm oversize valves! which would be a costly misinterpretation lol bigger straight fit valves are mad money. all sounds good then man. (zisco are good) Phil

ps all the 'staged' tuning levels crap is a complete nonsense. first step to understanding tuning is to rid yourself of such terms. decent suspension setup and you should be flying. then power to weight is whatever you want to make it. care weighs roughly 860kg and with minor mods you can run 180hp easy enough. with the same amount of mods but a bigger turbo you can run 240hp get reading and you should be able to do 240 on a budget as cheaply as 180 Phil -

Cheers Karl, i spoke to Ash before but i think his local mapper maybe isnt like the guys over here who just work with whatever they are handed. and if you trust your mapper and he really wants you to buy what he is selling then thats often the choice to take. though i always wonder if you just turned up and said ive got this... im ready to go... money here for mapping. i doubt they would try selling you a different ECU then Lol But there a big places even over here in N.Ireland that one sell one brand and can afford to pick and choose work. Thanks Bluebear. Yeah still sat here needing an EP. think they maybe look small cause of the massive tyres on them!! (came of a 180sx!) but these are def full size 15s. Phil -
Screamer pipes tend to sound terrible on te bodged/budget internal wastegate setups With a proper external gate, they sound grand, cause they only scream when your flat out. Phil

that im not sure exactly. my first set was cost price for testing 2009?and this time round i bought two sets. just drop him an email and im sure he will sort you out speedvisioncps@yahoo.com Phil

I'm not actually sure who that was, but I know at the same boost and stock ct9 I gained 20hp and more than that torque. Maybe running a bigger turbo and boost you may see a bigger increase who knows. I ran 265hp at 1bar td04 with them also which is very much above the norm. Ive a set of new speedies 265s to go in my current build so will let yous know results when I have them. Phil
