  2. i retain double din. it looks more jap. and a factory-option at that to keep it more authentic
  3. interisting. though i prefer footwell lights which light simultaneously with dome light when you open a door. and a time relay to stay on for 10seconds after closing the door. any ideas for that? a simple led strip on either side ?
  4. done that too. straight swap. interior already feels more 'habitable' but you'll have to replace all plastic panels to match the dark gray of the glanza

  11. nice work noel. Going pretty much same route myself. Got a 1998 reflet with a 1n. Want a 5e swap but they are rare to find, so I will have to settle for a 4 instead. Very good advice on how to squeeze a few extra bhp from it.

  14. no idea how shipping would be on that. I saw a rear spoiler from here and got a quote from http://shiplowcost.com (a shipping company who boast they have lowest uk-malta tariffs) and they quoted me €77. Let alone for a whole engine!

  16. thanks for the tip. how about reboring block to 1480?, skimming head, aftermarket cams, 4-2-1 exhaust mani, 2.5in exhaust all way to the back, corolla inlet, cone filter and mapping of ecu?

  18. at some stage, I will upgrade the front brake discs/calipers on my reflet to glanza ones. Is it possible to then move the existing front setup to the back?
  19. cant complain with clarion 10cm fronts and late 80s/early 90s pioneer 20cm at the back. Other than the latter blending perfectly with the starlets interior

  21. mine runs a 1n(which is no faster than a bicycle pushed by lance armstrong without snorting coke!) i intended to swap a 5efe. I don't want turbo, I'm not after aweseome power, just some fun on the road. Was looking at 140-150ish from a 5efe Mistakingly, i bought a 5afe instead(they look almost identical, other than identical cc and bhp) and 5efe's are somewhat hard to find. on the other hand the 4 is quite common. What do you think of -rebore block -polish, port and skimming cylinder head -1.4vvti inlet manifold 4-2-1 exhaust manifold -wide exhaust

  24. Just making new mounts is not something you should loose any sleep on. What I'm concerned about is if you need to make cutting and tearing in the car's metal, relocating things like battery, substituting driveshafts and radiator and other things that may find themselves in the way of the new motor. Gearbox I have with the engine. As for loom I'm not concerned either since currently car runs a 1N and therefore has to be changed anyway.
