Thats more down to the p-sped being aimed at the snowy mountain areas. Don't need electric windows or a/c in the snow. Much more likely if aimed to race to not a standard gearbox in which a more race focused lsd to be put in. Happy to be proved wrong, but seems to be something fabricated by starlet owners
-
Has anyone seen any proof that the p-spec was made for racing teams? Far more likely that it was just a cheaper lower spec model. I used to think the same about small engines but I think the real reason is there has been no real need for small capacity engines. Hasn't really been desired over here. Thats until car tax went up, people started worrying more about emissions petrol prices through the roof. If there was a demand there would be alot more low capacity engines from that time. Only one of know of sold in The UK was the charade gtti which didnt sell that well at all. Think they may hav

Micra 1.3 engines have taken 170hp. Thats on a N/A Built engine
-
Yeh granted you can double the hp. But not sure thats down to over engineering.you can increase the horsepower on alot of engines with no real worries. Not many engines are built specificaly for the hp they are to make. Im not slating the engine at all. What im saying is the 4e isnt really a 'brilliant' engine.
-
Im not saying the 4e is a shit engine, just saying its not built with performance in mind and not exactly over engineered. Most engines can take a fair bit more than the standard power modern and old. People make good power put of the standard micra engines. Going head to head with its modern competitors with what people want from a car these days it does out perform the 4e. Modern equivalent these days id say is a ford ecoboost, similar power, more refined, more mpg. Would i rather have a 4e, definetly but still

Guy on here selling a turbosmart
-
Toyota designed with economy, practicality and everyday use in mind (rather than performance).
-
That is true, im not saying they were a shit engine at all. Id say cb80 was more adavanced though ;) high pressure cast pistons major beefy rods, under oil squirters etc
-
At the end of the day the 4e is an 'economy' engine. They aren't partirculary well built and not really with performance in mind. However you can get pretty decent power out of them
-
They are local to me, alongside Forge.nope my turbo kit wasnt done in time and the car was in oxford. It was the b18 turbo one at Japday. Serious motor, close to 400hp

i get my lines made by up custom by Hose Technix. Paid about £40 for full braided setup for my V and £10 to replace the line that leaked from my TD removal kit too. Personally the cost of them is outrageous. Just so much as its plug and play. Take lines to a hydraulics place and they'll be able to make them up far cheaper i reckon.

Thats why i said go for a emb.... If you have money to burn and nothing to spend it on you may aswell go all out then. Buy a standalone have a digidash, ethanol everything
-
'Not on a track' is fair enough, but kind of irrelevant for alot of people who don't go on a track.
-
Personally wouldnt bother with a standalone one a ct9. But then wouldnt bother running a ct9 on a forged engine. Spend money on brakes and handling and just get a emb

Going for a ecumaster on my charade in the near future. The other option omex was close to £900 as the lower models cant do three cylinders!
-
Get some tips from them. Read a few threads on the internet and they throw alot of what people say here out the window. Especially the 'GT rods are stronger' statement. Think there was a thread on tgtt
-
Always likely to be someone who would have a bad review somewhere though. Turbos are a pretty different kettle of fish
-
Shame about the paint. But for the money you got alot more than you'd get for that money here. Very jealous of your garage, i had to settle on a single same criteria though and missus chose the rest. I prefer the toms wheels tbh!

Similar issues with gears on the GTTI. But at much lower power levels.people have added a bit of longetivity but running slightly more oil( filling up with the car at angle). Running thicker oil than specified.Fitting oil cooler to gearbox as gears often go on track with very warm oil.one guy has had the casing gears etc cryogenic coated and surving at 250hp. Sa

yeh certain wires have to be intercepted. Personally just sell the dastek and get a emanage blue, alot more people will map them

Just me or does that exhaust side look super wet?

Set up on a FCD and rrfpr i think. £1700 and the reserves not met. Personally don't think its worth anywhere near that

FPR, how did I install one and set it correctly

Fact incinuates you have evidence to prove?have evidence on a gauge of fuel pressure from new and 20 years down the line? -
FPR, how did I install one and set it correctly

To add, i had issues with rich running after fitting a walboro to my V. This cured after the work i did where nearly everything was changed including adding a fpr. Now i cant say it was specifically the fpr that cleared it. But, same issue with my GTti, aftermarket pump and an old standard fpr can't cope cause rich conditions. Fitted a sard and the problem has improved, still slight issue with the return pipe being a small diameter -

Whats the advantage of keeping a stock one over a adjustable? Bearing in mind one is 20years old? Havent mentioned anything about deviating away from stock fuel pressure...
