  1. No the spring stays locked in place with the upper to collars, as for setting the preload id guess it really needs doing on a proper setup but somethings better than them being loose imo. The proper procedure To lower the car would be, loosen the collar against the lower shock body and screw the whole shock in and out of that housing to raise or lower the car.
  2. Glad you got them alright. Shame they have to be put in a tube but its about £5 more if i do it flat due to postage price rises :/
  3. I have the split center hinge floating around i think
  4. Well I've been out for a couple of test runs and am happy to say she's running sweet. Engine is quiet and smooth and no funny knocks or vibrations. Everything seems to be working other than the aircon which needs leak testing and regassing then we can test it from there. Tracking needs doing as the hubs have been apart. Brakes need upgrading as they were pretty shot anyway. Clutch needs rebleeding as its really low, maybe thats how it is but its going to be worth redoing i think. Think I've got a set of koni shocks and some springs lined up for it also
  5. Fyi, Next time when uploading images use the box on photobucket that will display the images in the thread instead of links glwts
  6. Toyota engines to consider that could make 600hp with the right setup. 7agte (7afe with 4age head) 1.8. Mrp do kits for that sort of thing. turbod 1.8 vvtli 2zzge from a corolla or celica t-sport. 3sgte but would want the wrc block for over 600hp as the standard blocks can crack at around that figure apparently. Im sure I've even seen the 1zzfe (plain vvti engine) make 600hp+ The zz engines would make the most sense as theyre an alloy block so keep weight down. If you're not fussed on keeping it toyota then as above, k20 can handle 500hp on a stock motor boosted correctly
  7. From wikipedia. Other highlights in the show includes the owner of tuner Top Secret, "Smokey" Nagata run-in with the law in both the UK and New Zealand in 1998 and 2000
  8. He was banned because of the filming of this video haha. I want to say it was early 2000's
  9. My actual plans are. Test drive the daily's new engine and box setup, fix any problems that may arise. New suspension and brakes... As for the starlet? Gut the wiring from the 2 doors I've got here for the starlet ready for fitting my wiring too then Change them over, also swap rub strips over. Fit trackrods inner and outer. Replace ball joints check for loose shit/find source of my knocking from osf then get tracking done. change seats. Fix exhaust rattle. fix high cold idle Order and change thermostat make brackets, then fit and wire MR-S PS pump + get lines made. Source ae111 bzr
  10. Fit the collection of parts I've acquired to see id it makes the car not try and kill me
  11. Standard non converted has 180kph or 110mph (110mph is obviously 180kph) If you have a convertor you need the 180kph clocks and need to cross out kph and replace it with mph as the convertor changes it from 180kph to 180mph.
  12. Haha dont know about that, the wiring was left to my mate, i just do the manual labour side of things and chuck out some ideas when he comes up with issues with the wiring. Next conversion ill make sure i can get ecu wiring diagrams for both cars 1st, this has been a right royal pain in the ass 😂
  13. Well after starting on it last night at nearly 11pm and sinking back a few beers and chocolate eclairs we have one running 20v rolla. Considering its not been run in over a year it started up nice and quiet and smooth as anything. Few issues needed sorting main reason it wasnt going was a efi relay signal but we got led astray by 2v backfeeding from somewhere. (Its all a bit over my head tbh lol) Got that sorted, then Needed a tacho wire moving to give me a rev counter, also got my sld wired in. Last issue is getting the ac working, going to try find a diagram for that later today after I
  14. What a ledge! Some of this was done just down the road from me, near snetterton and thetford lol
  15. Chris green did a 5efe or fhe build on itbs think its getting work done atm last i heard
  16. Well not overly but its better than the 4efe lol 5efe on 4efe sensors 4-2-1 exhaust and rolla inlet emb would be easiest way to get the most out of an n/a E series without going crazy. Or obviously strap a tubby to one lol
  17. Same about of work as a 4age swap (they use the same mounts) And for 110hp rather than 125-165hp I would save yourself the hassle and spend some money on a 5efe or a 5efhe and whack a emb on there and get it mapped.
  18. If you edit the 1st post in the thread using the full editor it allows you to edit the title
  19. Small claims court? They'd prob soon get there act together then lol
  20. Yeah not far off, luckily i have the starlet which i can use in the mean time Book is 165hp but its not very often they dyno at that. Its usually more like 150-155 which is due to them doing the book figures without auxiliaries on the engine. My starlet for instance made 167. With a airfilter, flywheel, decat and 2.5" exhaust but that doesnt have powersteering or aircon and I've removed the tensioner from the water and alternator belt setup. With a few extra bits its upto 182 nearly.
  21. Well i fitted the loom last night, nothing went pop, bang or up in smoke and flames which is a bonus. Most the dash lights do as they should but no EML which is problem 1. The next is no fuel or spark but we were half expecting that as theres no switched ignition live going to the efi relay. Only Good thing is it turns over but my battery was pretty low so we gave up amd put that on charge along with a spare. Next attempt will be on wednesday!!
  22. The problem youve got is the UK specs were built in japan then shipped over so the chances are you will have a complete mismatch of chassis numbers mixing in with jdm and uk spec cars. The only people who might no is toyota uk who would have spec'd each car from a base model.
  23. Wiring is in the doors for plain electric mirrors but not powerfolds. My dash had nothing though. I got a pair of plugs for each side and made my own loom took about 1.5hrs to work it all out and fit it but its pukka now 1 wire to the cigy fuse 1 wire to an earth and the others need wiring into the plugs in the doors on each side.
