  1. The whiteline ones i had were identical to my uk spec bar style droplinks as i ran mine on my polybushes that i had fitted previously to my oem arb.
  2. I've been running mine (older ad08's) for nearly 3 years (march). Prob only covered 10k max in that time but have done a couple of short track sessions and have switched tyres around a bit to keep wear even. They will need replacing soon but id deffo be going for them again.
  3. It defo sounds like HG or leaking cylinder pressures of sorts to me, but whilst your at it and everythings off id flush out the heater matrix and the radiator just to make sure you have good flow through both anyway. Saying you skimmed the thermo housing is there any chance it had been skimmed before and now its now being held slightly apart by having the stat installed? This would cause the gasket to blow out as it wouldnt be clamping it. Only a thought but id deffo consider replacing it with one thats known not to be leaking.
  4. Yeah do a search for 4efte conversion and you should find the info you need. You loose use of the eleccy adjustable headlights if you use the turbo loom but you'll have all your powerfold wiring instead lol
  5. Yes they are detachable but no they are not interchangable like you'd like. You would need to do a bit of rewiring to get them to be plug and play. (Dont ask me what as I've never done a 4efte conversion) Moat people use full looms from a V and dump it in there n/a and get V clocks stalks and fuel pump + some otger bits.
  6. Yoko ad08's toyo r1r's rainsports. Theres loads. Pradas and t1rs are old and dated plus coming up to winter do you realy want a summer tyre? What kind of use are you looking at, dry weather only or is it daily use. What power are you running? All things to consider.
  7. You have to be a paid member to sell. Its £1.95 in the club store
  8. Was... I think you can happily say that the megane sports and seat leon cupra R are both the best atm as they both hold the fastest times around the ring and have for quite some time now. (For now) Not that the ring is the be all and end all but its a pretty good benchmark. And regarding the ek9 yes they are a bit over priced but if you were to hold onto it and keep it clean, low milage with some select mods it will retain its value very well. I love the power delivery of n/a jap engines, the power peaking at the 8k+ redline then shifting into the next gear back into the power engine on so
  9. Some heavy duty uprated clutch kits require a specific release bearing. Not many but some so just be aware.
  10. Pressure release spring on the rad cap probably got weak with age. My corolla did it, swapped it out with a 1.3 bar one i had on my starlet and its not done it since.
  11. V belt and bolts sorted. All brackets for the gearbox are on now too. Drop it off the stand flywheel and clutch, bolt gearbox up. And we have 1 complete engine ready to go. Will probably be next weekend but i might make a start sooner we will see
  12. Ball joint spliter? Will need a new one then though

    dust covers

Yes most big brake kits require you to remove then anyway
  14. Finally got around to getting on with this after waiting months for a 6th gear for my lsd box. Ended up with a 2nd hand one as toyota doesnt seem to be getting any in stock. So box is ready time to build the engine up after removing the woodruff key from the crank and replacing it. Just need a V belt for the ac and ps and 2 bolts to bolt the AC pump and thats it. Ill be getting the belt ordered tonight after work and the bolts i should have somewhere. So should be cracking on witg the swap the following weekend
  15. I've got a pair, Make me a sensible offer and they're yours
  16. Any pictures of the plugs on it? If they are actually plugs?
  17. Could do the headgasket for £100, garage would be £2-300 at least
  18. Mine had one on it when i got it but jad no guage. Its still laying about in my room somewhere
  19. Naa its not a oem non lsd box that. Id say youve got a lsd box without the lsd lol
  20. Thats deffo missing something. Most likely the oem external lsd unless a 4wd transfer case would bolt up?
  21. In comparison you have to compare other manufactures engines of the same era They were all 1.6L Honda ek9 b16b 185hp vtec 96 onwards mitsi mirage cyborg mivec 175hp 93 onwards nissan pulsar vzr neo vvl 175hp (n1 edition 197hp ltd run) 96 onwards Toyota levin bzr 20v 165hp 93 onwards But the toyota 20v is the only one not running a lift/variable cam lobe which is why they use other methods to gain the power instead. It wasn't the best means in terms of cosr which is why the introduced the Tsport 2zz vvtli engine.
