I've done so many it doesn't take long to do it now haha! Yea the first bits are tedious but it's always worth doing it right first in the long run -

So today i managed to get a solid day on the car...Heres how i got on. First job was to remove the heater matrix.. Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr After that was done, remove all the sound deadening / material from the bulkhead. A couple of pics.. Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr Had to take the cross bar off to remove the pedals to get all the horrid stuff out. Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr I then started stripping down the loom, and taking off any plugs not needed, and preparing it ready to splice in a GT engine loom as and when. Took some balls to do this hah! Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr Hoping i dont screw it up... Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr Looking abit tatty before its all tidied up, but it runs perfectly with now about half the original loom A little video - http://www.flickr.com/photos/99500065@N07/9419075842/ Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr A good amount saved here! Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr Last job of the evening was to start attacking the wonderful sound deadening in the rear set wells and boot.. Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr Starlet Build by fishy89gt, on Flickr And thats how its left for the moment! Next on the agenda...finishing the sound deadening removal, then stripping back the entire car and engine bay ready for the cage.. -

PaulStarletSR's TD04 Turbo'd beast. PROBLEM MAYB SOLVED
RobSR replied to PaulStarletSR's topic in EP91 Progress Blogs
It would hunt if its a vac line 100%. I had the problem before. Turned out it was one coming off the bottom of the throttle body. Check all those and the map sensor vac also. Aswell as cleaning out the ICV etc. -

Hmm, be Interesting to see how he's managed that with it being a fixed beam. I can't see how it's possible when the hub/rear setup is solid to the beam. I'm not all that bothered about massive camber in the back, it's not to bad standard. More interested in lowering the roll centre. -

Well if we keep the beam we can't really adjust the camber. I think we'll stick with the beam as there's a few little tricks to try, see what it's like and then go from there... -

Yea they handle alright with a RARB etc but there is definitely room for improvement -

Cheers guys. Setup wise. It'll be a forged 4e..Turbo undecided, as there's a few options we are weighing up. That'll be coming last tho. Cage, suspension and the handling side of things are coming first as that's the priority. Got to try and do something about the rear beam too as that's a major flaw in the whole car. -
I'm not doubting that and I agree with the video. Just a childish comment asking burney for a race implying his car isn't as good as people are making out.
-
Someone get something organised! Just do a TOTB style of thing on an airstrip somewhere Oh and then someone get a GTR along and do some 5omph rolls hahah
-
A starlet shoot out day would be good. Think you'd need to do more than just TD and Race-Tech tho. Alot of other people build them

Even I'm looking forward to it! The others shamed alot of stuff on track with a pretty basic circuit setup so this should be a league above that. -

Cheers guys. Going to start getting it stripped down tonight. Lets see how far we get! -
Lol! Do you think your GT is unbeatable round bends then?
-
I was there too! Didnt see yours though liam, just saw a silver v in the car park and a GT Advance. Ive got loads of pics of the GT on the handling circuit, ill post them up in the next few days.

Ah cool, have you got it? Be good to see it -
^ this lol. Says it all

look on facebook lol. the owner even said he couldnt get anywhere near it from 2nd as he couldnt get traction. 3rd gear with grip and its abit different It doesnt take a genius to work out the power to weight on a 325bhp starlet thats been stripped. That GTR in the video also looks like a first rev that has less power and wont pull the 2.7 0-60 time quoted. But yes a starlet will get no where near it on a launch or after 120/130 mph
-
He's on facebook mate, and trades on TGTT if you cant get hold of him on here
-
Get a video of it? Does sound like a hunting idle due to an airleak tho. even a little split in a vac line can cause it;
-
Check the PCV and do a compression test like said. It is a sign of worn rings tho.

There is a way you can fit safc's to remove fuel cut, ive been out the ep scene for too long now i cant remember off the top of my head, but i did get it working. Safc's arent brillant but they are still better than the fcd / fpr method as atleast you can trim fuelling through the rev range.
