What is the difference between a Starlet GT & a Glanza?
montanajr replied to kyle_d's topic in Lifestyle General
:harhar: So not only do they look better and go faster...but they are more roomy too! GTs FTMFW! -
A rear anti-roll bar; see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sway_bar

Had this problem with my GT. Even crashed because of it! Had crappy budget tyres on the rear and fitting a rear strut brace actually made it worse! (No rear ARB) In the wet/damp it was quite silly. I put it down to shit tyres so bought some Proxes T1-R's and that has sorted it out! Must've just been down to proper bad tyres, very light rear and the extra rigidity of the strut brace? Dunno, but it was scary at times...but a bit fun when exiting roundabouts! haha

Be different and properly tune a 5E...get 100hp/litre out of it, be sitting pretty at a lovely 150hp. Sorted! (Haha I have no idea whether or not that is even achievable, but..meh! )

What can I say, I'm a speed demon!

You could use duck tape or similar I guess. Would look shite and slaggish but would work; just wrap it round the pipe. You can get the breather filters from Halfords if you need one desperately. Probably be cheaper online though! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Breather-Filter-...%3A1|240%3A1318 http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...tegoryId_165660 I know which one I'd buy!

You need to block up the hole in the EFI pipe. As for the breather on the rocker cover, you can leave it like that (so its venting to atmosphere) but you'll probs get a mist of oil all over your rocker cover. Either get a catch can or breather filter. Heres my setup: A guy on TGTT was nice enough to send me the SSQV mounting bracket for free, so I've got that on now but its not necessary. In this pic you can see the breather filter fitted and hole in EFI pipe blocked up with some speed tape:

This man speaks the truth -
Is it missing as you accelerate? Like the others have said, could be water on the plugs. If the clutch is slipping the revs will rise freely as you press the throttle, but the car won't actually accelerate. Is it doing that? Could be a IC pipe popped off, or vac line or actuator has popped out the wastegate flap. Sometimes the circlip can ping off (happened on mine whilst driving).

Tuning the N/A for more power with a larger powerband

Put a turbo on it ? -
Go to the parts desk at Toyota, ask for 5litres of their red coolant and you'll get this: And yeah when you have to take the rad out just collect up the coolant and put it back in when you're done. I changed my coolant over once and its supposedly good for 60k miles, so no point constantly changing it everytime you need the rad out. Cost a lot! Just make sure you put it in a clean bowl/bottle/etc to store it.

wtf is up with the blue bgcolour?

PCV connected up?
-
Its off a 4EFE. The PCV valve should be the same asfaik. So its just a matter of different positioning for the breather. No biggy! Heres a FTE cam cover:

Looks nice mate! Enjoy!
-
Might be idling too low, hence why the wheel is shaking. Had this on mine. Simply turn it up mate!
-
What does it idle at? Should be around 900 mate. Oh enjoy fuel cut, its a right laugh! lol I want pics NOW!

I just got 4x 195/50/15 T1R's for £37 a corner; they seem to be pretty good and a good choice for winter weather as theyre good in the wet. I'd also check out Yokohama Parada Spec 2's.

Yeah mate! Whereabouts doya live?

I'm from Bracknell mate! Not too far. Nice car dude!

Its the best stuff to use and it comes premixed so do not add any water to it. 5L is more than enough and youll have spare to top up when needed.
