headlight measurement (For customization)
SpikeyJp_68 replied to Shan Singh's topic in Exterior Design
I reckon it will look cool depending on the placement of the LED strips I'll get some measurements for you when I can -
Either will do mate. The crank in my FE was stamped FET but I've read about it and in my opinion it makes not much of a difference

Hi guys, sorry for the 1001 questions but this build is costing me a fcking fortune so I've decided to do it 100% properly and by the book because I'm not doing it again. Anyway, when my block and head get back from the machine shop I'll be looking to clean it all out fully. Mainly the coolant jackets and oil galleries as I noticed they're not clean at all. I thought of buying a big plastic tub and filling it with green diesel or gunk and soaking it for 48hrs followed by a jet washing ? What other ways have people done it ? Many thanks in advance

There's no scratches/gouges or anything on the journals is there ? And it hasn't been reground ?
-
Must be in perfect serviceable condition without needing a polish or regrind or have been reground before Thanks in advance

Looking for a 4E crankshaft as mines damaged on the mains. Also looking for some motivation with it before I burn the fcking car to the ground and find a new hobby....

I thought myself it sounded a bit blowy but didn't want to fire out random suggestions haha

N/a and glanza driveshafts ?
SpikeyJp_68 replied to SpikeyJp_68's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
I thought that must be the case -
A decent rms power is what you need. The closer to max power the better the speaker/sound

N/a and glanza driveshafts ?
SpikeyJp_68 replied to SpikeyJp_68's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Yeah I thought it was a case of it being too much hassle for them to get them. Unless they priced me a whole driveshaft -
Crankshaft big end journals measuring over 40mm ?
SpikeyJp_68 replied to SpikeyJp_68's topic in Engines
I know it's very large in oil clearance terms either too much or too little clearance but if you were to put 2 lines on a piece of paper measuring 0.04mm it would be tiny. Plastigauge will give me a good idea of the oil clearances. If I'm still unsure, I'll send it to the machine shop and ask them to get me bearings suited for my crankshaft with or without a regrind -
Crankshaft big end journals measuring over 40mm ?
SpikeyJp_68 replied to SpikeyJp_68's topic in Engines
I was looking at getting a brand new digital one but they're quite expensive to use once/ twice. It's only 0.04mm over which is a lot in oil clearance terms I know but physically it's a tiny tiny measurement so it could be their standard that's out. -
Crankshaft big end journals measuring over 40mm ?
SpikeyJp_68 replied to SpikeyJp_68's topic in Engines
I was thinking that. I'll plastigauge it and if it's in spec happy days
