Use a gun and just gun it off. If you don't have one nip in to a garage and get them to do it, shouldn't think they would charge if your polite about it all.

Be prepared to take your pants down for the crank seal. Also check its not your sump seal first. I though mine had gone, turned out it was sump leaking!

I am after a Glanza passenger side drive shaft with CV joint intact and working with abs ring and no knocks! Would prefer local collection but don't mind paying postage if your cool to sort it. Thanks.

Head gasket has failed. -
Wind your actuator further in, sounds like it's still too slack to me.

Alarm that's Turbo timer friendly? Remote start?
DavidAshton replied to Amjad's topic in Interior & ICE
In my first Glanza I had a Viper 480xv, cost way too much but it could turbo time and lock / arm the car at the same time. -
It was a silver Glanza you can tell by the engine bay colour and OEM stickers still in place. It's defo not that tropicana one, that ended up sky blue and never got finished as far as I can remember.

That is not a JAM Glanza, never has been.

I fitted my coilovers last week and got the tracking done straight away. Tracking was spot on before fitting coilovers, after fitting them it was 7mm out which was a lot according to the tyre place!

HELP!! WHAT SHORT SHIFTER IS IT ?
DavidAshton replied to Rock-Kick-Ass's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
That's a TRD shifter, you can tell as its bent towards the right so it's closer to the driver, only the TRD does that and it has the solid washers in the pics that come with the TRD unit. Most other shifters use the stock unit and just replace the stick itself so they leave the stock rubber washers. -
I think you are mis-understanding what I am saying? I slackened all the collars off so everything could move. I then adjusted the top collar so it was literally holding the spring in place, the spring is not compressed at all and wasn't touched to lower the car. The last pic above the car is lowered by winding the shock in, again not touching the springs, it has another 20mm or so available to be wound in before all collars are touching. Does that make sense?

Just a quick one on this now I have them fitted, they are spot on. All fitted perfectly, all brackets for brake lines etc. line up as expected. Now the rear ride height! I set them up with springs at just enough compression so the weren't lose and enough to drop the ride height around 50mm. Fitted up nicely. Before I even dropped them they were sitting pretty much where my shock / spring combo was So here they are fully loaded with about 50mm available to go lower I then lowered them another 40mm giving this stance I have since taken th

Nope, never had coilovers on any of my Starlets, always thought they were over priced hence I jumped at these being so cheap. Had them out of the box now and they look top quality, fitting them tomorrow so will update what they are like.
-
I will be there also.

Save people having to look through all the pics it here:

Yeah I made sure I got plenty of fitted pics etc. I am sure they will be spot on.
-
Me too!, fitting this weekend so we shall see.

My sensible side lost on this one
-
Bahhhhhh why am I so tempted to buy some!?!?!?! £420 seems mad cheap for Starlet coilovers. My sensible side keeps saying no, but I do want some!
-
Yeah sound I am always up for Starlet antics just drop us a line when you are up and running. Yes that's exactly why I didn't get any alloys with lips, although they look mint I cant justify spending all that money and they lasting a year and start peeling I still cant find that something special for it, I was thinking maybe a carbon bonnet but for that kind of money I might as well upgrade the brakes for some decent one as its the only area that really lets this car down. I don't know I will keep looking.

I am surprised so many people still use dump valves and BOV's I thought it was chatter only these days. I went through a phase years ago trying to find one I was happy with and never did. In the end I found no BOV, just turbo chatter to be the best for me. As already said it's personal preference, try a few, you can normally buy one second hand, try it and if you don't like it sell it on at same price then try another.

I remember ages ago Driver on here let his Glanza run well into the fuel light warning lamp then when he filled up it never went back off. For this reason I try not to let mine get into the fuel light.

Just a little update on this one. Nothing major ever happens with it so I have been concentrating on keeping it clean, built up a nice little collection which keeps it in tip top condition. I did fully detail it a bit back but have yet to do a write up. Random reflection shot on the door and some cool bonnet / roof reflections It now running on its brand spanka new summer rims. Rota Slipstreams in 15 x 7 with Parada Spec 2's. It took an age for me to decide what alloys to run. I couldn't decide whether to go nice and lairy with some red GT3's or go slick and cl

I tried this with some Citroen ones that Clio owners use, they fitted but I was a loose fit. In the end I went back to the originals and left it at that.

Paid up, see you all there!
