  1. You should be able to get clearance ok. Slacken the front and rear wishbone bolts. Pull or lever the rear out as far as possible and tighten the 2 allen key bolts. Then tighten the front bolt. Worked for me!
  2. Bought from a fella in Livingstone direction. His brother works for Hypertech in Bonnybridge so all the work done on it was carried out there. At least until he popped the engine and shagged 3rd gear! Or did you mean the wheel nut key?
  3. I didn't get a key with the car - was just lucky the Impreza nuts were the same type. I'm sure it's just a big hex drive so should be able to find a key easy enough. I'll measure the scooby key and let you know. If you need it sharpish then feel free to borrow mine. Well spotted on the build thread.
  4. Thanks for saving it Charlie! Still can't find that wee box of bits (random bolts, wheel nuts and mph-km converter) Will be good to see it on the road again. Was it you who beat me to the 15" toms on gumtree a few days ago? I was planning on selling them to you for a hefty profit
  5. Yes, A small contact point is never going to generate enough conductive heat. I'd be more worried about it vibrating and creating a hole which is again very unlikely. For peace of mind, try adjusting the back box hangers to gain some clearance.
  6. The ignition temp of petrol is about 280 degrees Celsius so that's never going to happen.
  7. It's a nut and bolt, not exactly miraculous lol. Probably M6x20 I'd say. With a plain nut and 20mm OD M6 washers. I could probably send you some for a small fee if you can't find them locally.
  8. I've opted for nut and bolt when the plastic clip wears out. Speed clip of some sort might work and make life easier than trying to get a socket or spanner behind the wheel arch liner. Spring steel clips over sheet metal and accepts a self tapper. http://www.taiwantrade.com.tw/resources/member/115216/productcatalog/bd3364f3-e18b-4fa6-a612-9844aa811d59_HW002.JPG
  9. Yep. Push in for 2 wheel and out for 4. Im told you have to rock the car back and forward and ensure the button is in the correct place\engaged.
  10. More like a button than a lever! http://s168.photobucket.com/user/jezyoung/media/transfer_zpsed9b34bd.jpg.html'> I've haven't found out what the ratio is in 4WD. Will do some research.
  11. This ones a UK model. Only 80 odd were brought in to UK dealerships. There were also a further 20 Avanzato's which were built and tuned by Harry Hockley Motorsport for a one off Daihatsu Rally Challenge competition. I had a look on your thread. Looks amazing! Whats the Cappuccinos bhp per tonne? Was spinning the front wheels infirst and second this morn so will need to engage 4wd and see how it grips!
  12. ^^^ been looking at his build thread. Some amount of work put in. Love the bolt on arches and wide rims. Was an ebay buy for 1100. Not too bad for an extremely rare motor. They seem to change hands quite frequently so tends to be one or two for sale regularly. Mostly down south though.
  13. Looking at making it breath easier to begin with. Air filter and starlet top mount will be on soon. It has a stainless exhaust already but I think it was fabricated as an OE replacement so not that free flowing. First proper drive in it today. Not had enough road to hit the rev limit yet! Filled up the tank this morning for £30
  14. I've been eyeing up Kei cas for some time and when one popped up for sale in Glasgow, I couldn't resist. This is the intended replacement for the scooby which is killing me on fuel costs during my short commute at max. 30mph Here's the spec. 18. You can have mine for £400 Not exactly a full car though
  19. Skiffy and mossexpress are a couple of good places to get all kinds of plastic clips and fasteners. They also do free samples of pretty much everything! That's where I got my gear knob for the scooby!
  20. Yep. Not the easiest to cut off without cutting too deep! Looks neat and tidy if the plate is welded neatly.
  21. Battery tray removed and plate welded on top. http://s168.photobucket.com/user/jezyoung/media/SDC15205.jpg.html'> http://s168.photobucket.com/user/jezyoung/media/SDC15293.jpg.html'> http://s168.photobucket.com/user/jezyoung/media/SDC15194.jpg.html'>
