  1. If you want a serious power increase you'll be looking at cams/headwork/higher compression/raised rev limit. More money than it's worth usually.
  2. Well I did want a Starlet GT but ended up with one of these. And I agree Buddy Club exhausts sound great, I wouldn't ever have one as they're just far too loud but like this vid: Sounds really good, quite "aggressive" when changing into second and third.
  3. That's pretty much the same as what I was being quoted, which is why I'm waiting until I'm 19.
  4. No more pictures yet but should get some tomorrow, I've now found out where the leaks are coming from so got those to sort out aswell as replacing the sunroof rack because my sunroof doesn't open properly. I also removed the throttle body yesterday, sprayed a load of carb cleaner on it today, going to give it a good clean tomorrow, here's a quick pic of it but you can see what 160k miles worth of shit looks like (oil from the crankcase breather pipe): It's so caked up in shit that it actually feels "sticky" when you first try to open the butterfly valve, I'll post another pic up when I've cleaned it. I'm also going to give the inlet manifold a clean because that's looking pretty mucky aswell. Will have another update tomorrow.
  5. Before the site changed you could go straight to any sub-forum from the main forum page as they were all linked on the main page. Now you have to click through each section to get to the sub-forum you want which I find annoying sometimes, yes you could say laziness but what about the people who have a slow internet connection and have to wait for each page to load so they can get to the specific sub forum they want? So I thought what about having a "quick links" or "favourites", maybe add it into "My Assistant" so you can add sub-forums or specific topics in there for example if you regularly look at member's EP91s you could quickly get there instead of having to go through each sub-forum. Or if you wanted to check or update your own project topic, or check the for sale section, or whatever.
  6. It looks ok but I wouldn't pay that much for it with that mileage, not to mention it hasn't got the original TTE backbox.
  7. I really like it with the Reflet lights! Phoned up about the car I was going to look at, I'm not going to bother now.
  8. LOL!
  9. Well it's only going to be a run around, but I can't drive a standard car. Plus I think Starlets look shit without the little spoiler, the only tropicana Starlet in the member's rides section was lowered but it was on steelies and didin't have a spoiler...
  10. That's Caribbean blue, but it's made me want one in that colour now even though they're really hard to find.
  11. As in the title, I might be looking at getting a Tropicana EP91 but haven't seen many modded ones, would like to see what they look like with a few mods (alloys, lowered, optional spoiler, things like that).
  12. Honda CRX, the car in my sig. Do a few quotes on a GT see what it comes back with, May isn't too far away so could get yourself a GT.
  13. I'm 18 aswell, insurance for a GT would have been around £2k for me but I ended up getting a CRX instead which I'm going to have to wait a few months until I'm 19 before I can get it on the road. Glanza insurance is quite a bit more expensive. How long is it until you are 19 and how much money will you have to spend?
  14. You'd lose power, you'd have to buy some higher compression pistons if you wanted to gain power this way, but that would cost more than it's worth. (Might aswell wait and go for a turbo). In another topic you were asking about cams, well if you're going to do cams and you're serious about getting more power and have money to spend you could mad with the head, get it skimmed, ported and polished, and a 3 angle valve job, uprated valve springs and the cams. Bearing in mind that would cost a fair whack and not really worth it, because again, you might aswell just wait and go for a turbo or bigger engine. To be honest once you get past doing the inlet manifold/air filter/exhaust system it gets very expensive to squeeze power out of the 4EFE as it's essentially an economy based small displacement engine that wasn't intended for high power, if you wanted an easy way of getting more power but can't afford to go turbo you should consider a 5EFE bottom end. I'd love to see a well tuned 4EFE as much as anyone else but unless you just want bragging rights or have got alot of money to throw around it just doesn't seem realisticly worth it.
  15. In a naturally aspirated engine you could benefit from higher comp pistons aslong as you don't go too extreme because of things like valve clearance for example.
  16. Boost it.
  17. What's the new car?
  18. Fake CF is on the same level as neons and Lexus lights IMO.
  19. It's for the import grade. S The vehicle is less than 12 months old from the first year of registration. It doesn't require any repairs to the interior or exterior. This vehicle is suitable for exhibition selling. 6 The vehicle is less than 24 months old from the first year of registration. It doesn't require any repairs to the interior or exterior. This vehicle is suitable for exhibition selling. 5 The vehicle is very close to point 6; however the vehicle requires minor aesthetic repairs. 4.5 This vehicle is very close to point 5; however the vehicle may require some minor panel beating work or painting or interior repairs. 4 The damage on this vehicle is slightly more severe than 'point 5'. It requires repairs to damaged parts. 3.5 The vehicle has noticeable damage. It has a history of repairs to its core structure; front, back and side panels. 3 The damage to this vehicle is more noticeable than 'point 3.5'. Scratches and other damage are clearly visible. 2 The entire vehicle needs panel beating and repairs. Corrosion can be found on the vehicle. The Odometer reading is suspect and the odometer may not work. Major damage to the interior and exterior. 1 Engine still in working order, however car is in need of much repair, the vehicle can still be driven. 0 The part of the car has been changed or repaired. R Repaired Car That was copied from some import website. I wouldn't be too bothered about what number your car has though.
  20. You don't completely loosen it off, just get it so it's tight enough to keep the spring in place.
  21. Have you considered asking around friends & family for someone who owns a garage but doesn't use it? I'm currently "renting" some womans garage, it's only a single garage and hardly any room like you said but it does the job and at £15 a month can't complain.
  22. You sell them and buy some different coilovers. Either that or you'll want some different springs for them.
  23. I've sat in a fair few cars and out of all the little hatchbacks the Starlets do have a fair bit more headroom. You should fit with the seat all the way back but there wont be any legroom for rear passengers.
  24. Tow bar?
