  1. I was expecting some 180 handbrake turn or something but that was actually really good. I have a "mate" who thinks a handbrake turn is drifting, fucking does my head in.
  2. Finally got this stored in a garage, will be starting work on it after christmas.
  3. Don't suppose you do anything for Hondas do you?
  4. I'm just fussy. Either way mate fair play to you being able to buy and work on cars at your age. By the time you're old enough to drive you'll have a decent car after spending so much time on it.
  5. Starlets are great, not a fan of Vauxhalls though, unless it's something like a Chevette.
  6. It annoys me when people write "4-AGE" as opposed to "4A-GE".
  7. 5EFHE cams are only "slightly" better. You'd be better off first doing the basic breathing mods, then move onto headwork and fuel management.
  8. Very nice, loving the recon'd turbo and the JAM manifold. Quite liking that sub too, that's the sort of thing I'd be after if I was going to get a sub, how much does one of them cost just out of interest? Shouldn't be long now then until it's all done? Will have to come down and see it when I'm on the road again.
  9. I'd hate to imagine what a Starlet would be like without one. It's bad enough without a rear.
  10. I hate gritters, they fucking chuck it all over my car eveytime they come down my street!
  11. What I meant was these idiots who just fit FCD's to cure their fuel cut problem but they don't alter the fuelling. A bit of boost creep will mean they're running lean (hot). Being set up with the right fuelling is fine, just make sure it's done properly.
  12. Also another thing I look for when buying a car is what sort of person the seller is. It's usually a good indication of how they have treated the car, how honest they are, and how good their work is if they have done any mods themselves. That probably seems like something most people would normally do anyway, but seeing as these cars can potentially be "ruined" if messed around with by an idiot then I'd take extra care. For example a member on here recently bought a GT, 3 weeks later the piston rings had gone. I would elaborate on that but I'm sure some people would take it wrongly.
  13. Same here Make sure it hasn't had a fuel cut defender fitted and then ran on standard fuelling. It will possibly be running lean. The standard manifold is easy to identify if it hasn't got the heat shield over it, it's a cast piece and will most probably have surface rust. The best way to describe the standard turbo is that it's small. Have a look here: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....engine+bay+pics
  14. Nice to have such a useful search button here.
  15. I'm liking what I hear but there is also another company that make coilovers for CRX's called "Gaz". I'm not sure if anyone's heard of them as I don't think they make anything for Starlets but they seem to be well liked on the CRX forum and have been around for quite a while. They're a fair bit cheaper than the MeisterR's at £450 but they don't offer the same level of adjustability. (Single perch design like the Tein Super Streets). So it's a toss up between those two at the minute.
  16. Yeah that's pretty much what I've found from searching on the net Enzo, couldn't find any proper reviews of the MeisterR's though, I suppose they haven't really been out long enough to be able to know what their reliability and longevity are like. I'll wait to see this review of the MeisterR's.
  17. Has anyone got a proper review for these other than "ooh the they're shiney" or "they look good"? Are they any good or are they just another D2 incarnation i.e. crap? I know they have a good level of adjustability and all that, but it's the internal bits that make the difference between a good/bad coilover. From what I gather so far: D2/K Sport are shit, BCs are the same, and apparently (not sure if it's true) MeisterR's are made with BC's the same way K Sport are the same as D2's. The reason I ask is because I'm trying to decide what coilovers to get for the CRX. Also MeisterR make a bra
  18. Diesel AND automatic? Why would someone want to go through the torture of driving that?
  19. Not trying to nitpick, but what if the car was modded in Japan then returned to standard before being exported?
  20. I had a quick look into importing when I was after a GT, and by the time you've added up all the costs it seems better to buy one that's already imported. £9k is alot of money, you could get a top of the range Glanza for that, and insurance, and some mods.

Pics of the 35 year old?
  23. Thinking about it now it might look really silly. 155's are probably the best option, knowing they'll fit and not stick out too much. I'd much rather go for some 15 inch wheels anyway but seeing as it's only a run around I'd rather spend £50 on a couple of decent tyres and then have a full set of wheels & tyres instead of spending a couple of hundred quid. The more money I spend on the Starlet the less I have for the CRX.
