LOL just realised you said Im spending YOUR money wisely, that I am

I had this exact same experience with all of mine. Always always had some little problem to attend to, thats just the way they are which regretably puts me off buying one again. Too much distraction with the real car now anyway

Tbh Im not suprised that a good few of us are or have been into R/C. I started out with a Tamiya Nitro entry level 1/10th back in the day. That was a laugh and really got me into it. Unfortunately it was quite cheap and kept going wrong and costing a fortune. Then I moved onto the first HPI Sprint they made which was immense fun, spent hundreds and hundreds on it. Made it very quick indeed. HPI are the daddy of r/c imo, such quality parts and fairly affordable. Then a few years ago I was silly bought the Schumacher XT21 80mph truck pictured above. I owned it for 1 week, was too fast so I took it back! It was absolutely insane, you'd need an entire airfield to run it properly. It would literally take off and become airborne at the slightest hint of a bump or dip in a carpark. The Xray T1 is a work of art though and brushless motors are sweet too I had one in the sprint. I just loved the sprint in the way you could adjust the camber, toe in, ride height, spring preload etc, you could even change the type and weight of oil in the shocks. it was like having your own minuture race car, tuned to perfection. Ahhh, I miss those days

That isnt my car Well, wasnt my car Thats when James had it before the respray, before everything really, it was pretty bog standard back in the day

F*ck me, BEAST! The acceleration in 4th and 5th was ferocious!

Thats right mate. I had trouble getting from 1st to second in day to day driving. The when winter time came I started to get big gear crunch from 3rd to 2nd untill the box warmed right up. Now its showing a hint of crunch from 1st to 2nd, a lot if you do a quick shift! If you listen to my vid on the tube you can actually make out the short crunch from 1st to 2nd, that was on a warmed up box and I found that if I shifted very quickly there was very little resistance (probably something to do with the perfect rpm shift point, the point in which gears can be changed without engaging the clutch). It all gets rather techy when you look into transmissions! I did some research and the most likely cause is worn synchro rigns (bulk rings), so hopefully yes it will be ubes after Fingers crossed!

hehe, sure hes got some tricks up his sleave. Lets just say hes got some nice rims on there now and still knows the guy who minted the gt3s

Its a trisco gauge mate. They come from Epracing and are pretty high quality imo, only better equivalent I have seen is the uber rare apexi tacho that toytuning were auctioning. If you look back at the pics in the middle of page 3 I think you'll find out what they look like

Love em man, glanz gets much more smiles and nods now!

Its always good to get your car checked out on the rollers, make sure everything is in check. Its gonna be a good few weeks before the emanage by the looks of it, I've spent a lot of money in the last few months! A mate of mine (MajorTunage) had an idea, he sent me a pic of the glanz before I got my hands on it so heres a comparison. Before: After: Cheers, Pav

Time for an Update I think. As some of you may know I had my car dyno'd the other week. This was mainly to check the health of the tune and see what sort of power and torque glanz was belching out. ;) Here is the result: 182 bhp which was ok but less than the target. This was most likely due to my air fuel ratios becoming too rich higher up in the revs. The cause of this is partly a result of boost drop-off and the blitz ecus tendency to tune very rich high up. I was however very happy to see that as boost came in I was dealing with over 200 ft/lbs of torque ;). Must explain the traction "issues" I had been having lol So anyway, I've sold the Blitz Ecu and am now saving up some cash for an emanage most likely. I drove TurboDaves gt running 221 hp a couple weeks back which was running an emanage tuned by Weston Performance. It had been tuned very well with power running all the way up to the redline unlike mine which tends to die off after 5500 rpms. This is something a good tuner can sort out. I have pretty much sorted my boost issue out now. Daves boost dropped just like mine and yet his tune felt really nice so an emanage it is! Im currently running a Zep Racing Ecu for fun, I've been through quite a few now lol. It performs well and will soon be going into my mates black glanza once his HDi frontmount is all fitted up Then well be off to the rollers to check its all safe and producing good power. Here is my boost map and my afr below. Notice how my boost comes in and steadily drops by a good 2 psi. The mixture becomes steadily richer as the revs rise instead of peaking then settling at one level. Pav

Sound as a pound, I'll have to have a big shed search to find all the bits mind its a flipping jungle in there! As for the seat, next time someone is selling a Bride Ergo with low profile rail for £20 I'll gladly say yes please! May have to find an alternative as the chances of that happening again are close to zero ;)

What did you drive to tuckas for? Must have been something good if you drove the distance ;) About the lip, I was thinking just that before I put them on, but I really like it as it is. I may think about doing this later on for a change, I did like also it when it was silver. Not sure ;) lol

Ross! I know its you

hehe, looks like we have a contender! lol I think the way your no2 was set up it would rape mine frankly ;) (round the bends at least) Got your email about the guy in the mazda, sounds mint!
