The above car came to us from a family friend with starting problems a new battery later it still refused to start after messing around with it we managed to start it and move it connected to a starter pack lol after replacing the alt it again started with a jump start the belt was damaged due to the pulley being different on the recon alt so the old pulley and a new belt were added!..........now it still refuses to start!! current stats on the car -Plenty of fuel coming thru -fuel pump turns on -Spark on all 4 leads -alt replaced -new battery -tried a different starter motor from a working car -no codes -earths checked all good -new plugs -15amp EFI fuse was blown now replaced and hasnt blown since all other fuses are good its a 3s-fe 2.0.....coilpack run ideas anyone??

did it have the same throttle body? larger injectors? mines a 96....has a second gen the first gen had a 4-2-1 mani on the exhaust side too

this ^ Just to add, to adjust the idle on the N/A its a little different they dont have the said "screw".......the only way we can adjust it is via a small allen screw at the throttle cable end on the throttle body. this is factory set and has some sort of yellow liquid seal on so should never need messing with......meaning if the car does have idle issues try and sort them and use this only as a last resort..... throttle body gasket can cause idle issues clean the ICV Reset the TPS (calibrate it) this was the issue with amjad clean all the earths + add a few more service it the list is endless but if you done that much and still cant idle post up lol

i think the knock sensor has a special type of wire/sleeving it might have been damaged have a look see

wouldnt use halfords personally, shite oil as with the castrols.......try a millers or something else 10w 40 i change mine every 10k BKR5EYA- standard grade NGK for the N/A £9-12 from motor factors BKR5EIX- Iridums for the N/A ~£22 delivered on ebay (cheapest) get a fuel filter ADL/genuine thermostat and antifreeze too toyota red or a decent brand not the carplan el-cheapo rubbish a magnetic sump plug wouldnt be a bad investment mines picked up a few metal shavings, lets you know whats going on between service intervals ADL blueprint filters is where its at, wouldn`t worry too much about the fluid leave it till you get some braided lines and invest in other bits

on the N/A its bellow the engine before the CAT, I got a NTK one for £50 plugged straight in no messing aroung with universals, but most tend to go for universals think its a 3 wire?
