  1. Is this youre project ep you was telling me about Dave? What turbo is that? k26? Loving the side exit time go grill some pedestrians
  2. Itll work out hundreds and hundreds cheaper if you just buy a used 4efte and do a straight swap. 4efte - £500ish depending on milage 4efte ecu and loom - £30-100 depending where from Then also you may need the turbo components such as alternator, turbo etc.All depends where you go. Phone fensport, they will be able to sort you out everything for a conversion.engine, ecu, brakes etc etc. As its been said, 4efes run low compression, so would be pointless adding a turbo unless you play with the internals.Which would be pointless because you may as well go out and get a stock ft
  3. No worrys Nick It is a lot less confusing with a hks actuator fitted bud. Once youve fitted one boost controller, youll be laughing with what ever car you get in the future because they all fit the same way. Only boost controller that differs is the Apexi avcr. Only because it has alot more in depth settings. It plumbs up exactly the same way though Get a How2 up when youre fitting it bud, and if you have any problems dont hesitate to throw me a pm
  4. Though so. All actuators will leak pressure slightly. Best bet is to fit an electronic controller if you want a spot on setting. If youre running just an actuator set, it will vary slightly on hot and cold days. Also you may notice creeping, and boost drop off with out a controller.
  5. If youre running the stock actuator you will need a tpiece on the vacum lines. So you have both 1 vacum from the COM port on the solenoid, going into a T , then from one side of the tpiece going to 1 port on the actuator , and from the other side of the t piece going to the other port on the actuator. Then the vacum from the NO port, going to the turbo comp housing bud. I wouldnt run a standard actuator with a profec though bud. You will get much better results running a single port, uprated actuator like a jam or hks etc. Holds boost stronger, rather than the old shite standard jobbies le
  6. Why thank you Sir's May the force be with you mods
  7. If youre running a new turbo, and hks actuator.. Purchase an electronic boost controller. It will give stable boost pressures. Im assuming youre running youre boost pressure set straight off of the actuator arm? no eleccy controller..
  8. Are you running a hks actuator bud? single port ? If so. Goes like this COM--->Actuator SOLENOID NO----->Turbo Housing.
  9. Dans left us lot for the saxo crew lol The traitor. I tell him everytime im out with him in his garlic'mobil.
  10. Ebay will sell cable converters bud. Cost about £15 for a good quality one.
  11. When you tighten or loosen them, youre just adjusting the tension on the spring. So it will either open under heavy pressure or light. Obviously if you have it set to only dump on heavy pressure then you will hear more chattering from the turbo.
  12. Jack one front wheel up off the ground and try turning it. If you have LSD you wont be able to turn the wheel when the other side front is on the ground. Also when both are up in the air, when you turn one side, the other will turn too.
  13. There the beasts right there lol Excellent build quality. All the items Turbosmart make are spot on. All down to preference bud.
  14. Yeah the HKS ones can sound a little too high pitched. But its all down to personal taste. I just prefered the noise of the Blitz. Also very easy to get hold of flange adaptors for the Blitz items. So you can weld or samco them onto youre intercooler pipework without a lot of hassle.
  15. I agree. Looks well smart mate.Makes a change to the usual rising sun painted on.
  16. Build quality wise, there all pretty well manufactured. Sound preference wise, i prefer the HKS , Blitz supersound and Turbosmart ones. I run a blitz supersound, adjusted nice and hard, so it only dumps under heavy throttle. The HKS ones sound pretty immense with the purple insert. Turbosmart make some quality ones too, and there twin trumpet one is extremely loud. Have a look on youtube for different dump valve sounds and see which you prefer bud.
  17. Yeah most lsd's click when youre turning.Which is normal. If you dont have lsd , check the condition of the cv's. Turn right, check if it knocks. Turn left, check if it knocks. Will give you an idea which sides shot
  18. Haha that looks awesome mate! How did you do the design on it ? hand painted? or stenciled?
  19. All the best with the assesment bud!! Like i said, i have much respect for them putting there lifes on the line for such little pay!!
  20. If you want adjustable camber / castor etc you could allways purchase a set of pillowball topmounts and uprated dampers / springs. You dont need coilys to get the adjustability of camber etc. I was running TRD dampers and springs, then upgraded to cusco coil overs and pillowballs.Id never turn back. Bumpy on shite roads, but immense on trackdays. Like Joz said, all depends what you want the car aimed at.. Everyday drivability or trackslagging fun
  21. Hey bud. Knocking noises when cornering is 99% of the time a CV shot. You can get service kits off of ebay, and also traders on the forums such as Dave Burwash, Toby etc.
  22. Thats awesome mate, I have muchos respect for the fire service ! Good luck bro
  23. tbh i didnt notice any lag from mine. But it all depends on the engine.Every one is different
  24. Shouldnt be too hard bud. Keep an eye on our cars for sale section, and also ebay. Theres lots of mint ones on there. But tbh, most dealers on there are ripping people off now. Try and find a mint , well looked after one thats being sold privately Good luck bud, you wont be dissapointed by the starbo
  25. Slightly more lag, but much lower intake temps than a top mount. All depends what youre future plans are mate
