I've bought the Nankang's too, heard nothing but good reviews about them. And like Mikey said for the price you really can't go wrong. -

Definitely, I found them pants on a near stock GT! -
Knocking/catching noise on hard left turns (not tyres)
Amjad replied to Amjad's topic in Chassis & Suspension
Nah checked the top mount nut and it's reasonably tight. Wheel bearing is okay I think because no excessive movement when checking by hand. Gonna have to check the wishbone properly to see if it's rubbed. Good thing is they're pink so should be easy to tell if it has haha -

It's the worst! Got semi slicks to go on but wanna get all issues sorted first. Hopefully it is this, really can't be dealing with car problems close to exams Does he have ALK and a bigger FARB at all? -

Yeah I have polybushes and ALK. That being said, wishbones with ALK are known to sit pretty close to 24mm FARB's. They might be catching? I know some people on TGTT have had to fit spacers to bring the FARB down further. That's one area I didn't check, but it's weird I never had this problem on my NA with the same setup (maybe the wisbone shape is different) -
Settings I've found are good are neutral toe, -1.5ish camber

So I've recently noticed a noise from the car which is proving difficult to identify. On hard lefts downhill the front right (driver side) area is making a weird noise, kind of like a knocking or catching. It feels more like a suspension component being responsible than being from tyres rubbing (a noise I was all too familiar with in the past). It's not a consistent knock-knock-knock as per a dodgy CV joint, but seems to be related to hard load and only for a second or so. The most similar noise I can compare it to is when my brake line bracket on Meister coily used to catch the inner

What tyres were you running Jay? -
V70 are quite pricey aren't they? Good price on the 888's there, is it true that they go off after a few laps on temp?
-
Heard from quite a few people that those aren't too good in the wet
-
Exactly man! I was set on Advans before I saw the price and feedback on these! Try Tyres-Pneus online, prices recently went up because it's in season
-
Back on topic, these are only £102/pair ;)
-
Just that the ones that were fitted have cracked and split after 2 years. Toyota wanted £76 for one Not after an upgrade per se, just something that will last
-
Thanks Edwin!

Gonna go with the ones ID-Workz recommend last longest, but thanks for the posts. Would be interesting to see how you get on with those Daniel.

Recently had a ball joint replaced about a month(ish) ago and it's already torn it's boot! Noticed some cracks in my CV boots and wanted to know which ones most people rate. I don't want to have to get them replaced again so soon like the ball joint, so please let me know below!

Can't wait to get these on! Rainsport 3 have a 180mm contact patch, these have 200mm! And they're both 195/50 tyres! Damn stiff sidewall and all
-
Cool, thanks for the advice! Cars I was looking to do are mostly VW, Audi, BMW
-
Would it be quicker to just use a rotary with a foam polishing pad? Never used a rotary before but I was considering buying one as most people who want their cars doing by me own cars with hard paint (German)
-
All the best with the trip! Camber on the back gave me so much more grip!
-
What's good for hard German paint? Used to use a DAS-6 but it took way too long!
-
Kinda bringing this back from the dead so I apologise, but my question is directly related. To tighten the top nut do I need to remove the adjuster first by loosening the red "nut"? Or can I just grip that with a spanner whilst I tighten the big main nut beneath it?
