  1. well, i've ran emanage ultimate with 4efte electronics on a 5efte for over 10 years now,,,,had a td04L on at some point too.....so yeah, i know EMU works well with this set up :D

i can't vouch for the EMB, but i suppose it should work as well...just EMU was an upgrade over the EMB, and not much different in pricing

you can probably get either with a fields plug and play harness, boost sensor, etc in the sales section for a very reasonable price

  2. my advice to you is to get it tuned and stay out of boost until you do.

you need something that tunes both ignition and fueling...the 5e running with 4efte electronics works, but needs the tune (via piggyback or as you mentioned standalone) to get the maps in decent order, else you may get lean and detonation issues at various points in the low/mid rev range, though it may fuel rich in the high rpms

if you put in larger injectors (lets say 330cc/360cc) with just the 4efte ecu, then the car will be inefficient

if you retard the base timing to preempt detonation, the car will be inefficient

the volumetric efficiency between the 4e and 5e are just noticeably different, that's why i strongly advice you to get it tuned

  3. i've only ran an ultra racing one...for so long that i've forgotten when...maybe close to 10 years.

never had any issue with it and made the car very stable.

but its not adjustable, so you would need to choose the appropriate thickness to match what you want from the start or go with whiteline

Hello there lads and lassies, I have 2 questions which has no yet been answered, no matter where I go to try find the answer I am not successful so I'm hoping someone can answer me here!

I have recently bought a glanza v with the standard 4e-fte engine with the standard turbo, I was running her in when the timing belt shit itself, I have been told they are a non interference engine can anyone clarify this?

My second question which is an unusual one, I have a tdo4 to put on but no manifold and I also have a turbo off a 3.0L land cruiser, if I did a few changed to the manifold I can get it to work but would the 4e-fte handle the land cruisers Turbo?

    1) i've always come along hearing they are non-inference ----ONCE its stock set up .....as in stock headgasket, no machine work, etc

    2) which ever turbo you choose apart from stock ct9, you will need a manifold, downpipe, oil line, oil return, some kind of tuning/management, etc. to make it work

is the land cruiser a diesel vehicle?...not sure about the size/flow of that turbo and how it would work with the 4efte,,,, may be on the small size of things if its from a diesel??

  5. i'd suggest checking rhdjapan

that is the last place i got some....was a long time ago and as stated above, they are very hard to find now

  6. as per your other tread, i ran a similar set up to what you have now,

my silicon bend/hose touched the oil filter slightly if i ran the parallel to the ground, so i trimmed the hose/bend carefully and turned the filter set up slightly upwards to minimize any touching

the filter itself never touched the oil filter---only the hose/bend

  7. i had the same issue a while back. i ended up getting a 90 degree bend/elbow to convert from 2.25" to 2.5", then used a 2.5" pipe (instead of the 50mm pipe you have there) and fitted a small 2.5" mushroom filter....just trim the pipe length to suit the space/filter accordingly....i reiterate, make sure the mushroom filter is the small type as the big mushroom filters may not fit (limited space)

    something like that

    That' exactly what happened .

Seems like the engineer hit a blunder .But managed to get them in .then into another problem .one of the bolts at 40nm just spins round .which means again the engineer has tapped it to big so advised to tap and install a helicoil.

are you sure a helicoil will hold that sort of torque/tension??

maybe some of the other technical members here can lend some insight in this matter

i did use a helicoil to sort out an exhaust manifold/head stud a while back with great success, but i'm not sure about using it for headbolts

Now I need more help please lol .

We managed to get the studs in .but realising the longer studs not clearing the cam .we used the old spacers and made the holes a tad bigger for the stud to go through . Will post a pic by tomorrow what I mean. Any idea?

by any chance do you have them installed incorrectly?----long studs on short side and vice versa?

Update: Toyota do the one on the left for about £9+VAT, bargain! Picking two up on Tuesday. Part number 90075-60006

Still wonder why they decided to redesign something that didn't really need touching.

lol...i wonder myself, ..but that's one of those million dollar questions...if you get the answer, kindly let us know :D

  11. to the best of my knowledge, 200/220bhp is the most i remember being made on an auto ep82

that was a long time ago and the member's name slips my mind----you would need to be diligent with tranny oil changes and possibly a cooler would help

    found it----YBY was the name
