Earl's / Tm Developments Brake Lines Aren't Fitting..
The_Notorious_C_A_T replied to Amjad's topic in Braking
Just bend the clip a bit bud, should give enough pressure onto the hose/bracket to hold it tight. -
My Ax Gti With Vts Engine
The_Notorious_C_A_T replied to Bean's topic in Other Motors Progress Blogs
It's not just for braking mate, bigger arb and wider track as well. Also bigger torsion bars iirc! My old comp brake did that, although it's only minor, it's an annoyance, never had that problem with the b&m style one, and I've had the grub screws come loose when using that kind you have and changing gear was a hassle for sure! Did you do a full loom change or just the engine? -
My Ax Gti With Vts Engine

I used to have a 16v ax and it could shift like. Why do you have a swastika on it? Also I would use a rear disk beam and what you think of the comp brake shifter? As I always prefered the b&m style one, as the grub screws aren't great for the collers on those shifters in my experience. -

I haven't read the whole thread but with 58 pages it must have been a fair adventure! Glad to hear it's up and running and you're enjoying it bud. Makes all the waiting worth while huh! Although I bet theres more to come though! -

Nice car bud and good to see you're sorting handling and braking which is the should be the first port of call of modding! -
nah sorry mate, but wallace do have a website, although speaking to russel himself can be quite hard as he's always busy. I'm not totally sure if he has had experience with starlets before to be honest, the person I spoke to on the phone said they had but saying it and it being true can be very different from my experience unfortunately.
-
they are a dastek dealer and russel probably has mapped them a few times I would bet. Never dealt with him myself, but my mate used to work there and when I was there, he seemed clued up and a very decent chap. And another guy I know who does like rallying or something like that used to have an ax that won it's class also says he knows his shit like.
-
I've heard good things about Russel at wallace performance in aberdeen. Although what ecu do you recommend then if you don't rate dastek? As most people don't really need a standalone ecu really.
-
welcome mate. Andy's from Elgin but I'm sure there are a few more folk from up that area with starlets
-
I'll have a n/a radiator for sale, brand new, although it has been taken out of it;s packing. Would do it cheapish for you bud.
-
sorry to hear that mate. It's one of the things that worries me that some bell toucher will ruin all my work on my car and I'll only get back pennies from the insurance compared to what I've spent on it But as folk have said, at least you're ok though mate, no matter how annoying it is, a motor can be replaced.
-
It is, with an electronic one you can help it spool quicker by messing with the gain settings. And you can do it from inside the car which is a big bonus!

Last time I sent it round to the boys (one thing I'd never do if it was sent to me by the girl herself may I add) she was nice enough to send me a picture of his cock apparently. Which was not a nice thing to get first thing in the morning. Needless to say that was deleted straight away. Just thank fuck I wasn't in work when I opened that text from her! Although I was almost in the door. I might post it, might not though lol. -

My mate sent me a pic of his bird at teh time with a hair brush up her minge. Although I think the vodka bottle up the arse is the winner, especially if it's on facebook! -
Meguirs wash and wax thing, do it about once a month at best. Never got the whole anal about detailing thing. As long as it aint rusty or salty corrosive stuff, a bit of dirt isn't the end of the world.

Boost is adjusted by a boost controller, electronic or manual. Boost is limited by the external wastegate. Will need an external wastegate manifold though. And yes the actuator is not needed. As the mbc/ebc will hold the external wastegate spring shut until desired boost level is reached then it dumps the excess out the screamer. eg a external wastegate might have a 0.8bar spring, so anything above that it vents, and the boost controller will hold it shut until whatever has been set by your boost controller, then it wil dump it once that has been reached.

Is it not covered in enzo's description of the td12?
-
Depends on what you want will decide which one would be best to buy.
-
wolf 3d ecu? Can you give a bit more info about that ecu?
-
i always run my motor on v power. If the only petrol station I can get to, also bp ultimate, although I generally don't like bp and would choose shell stuff over bp any time.
-
I would be more likely to go for 4.3k as it's less noticable to "the man" lol Although I have something else I need to use the cash on soon so putting hid's on the back burner for now! Deffo a good bargain, is it the blitz copy the one you bought or the hdi copy?
-
bargain there mate! Get it from ebay? Never got round to getting any hids, keep meaning to though lol
