mrkd5916 replied to Hazzagray's topic in News & General Announcements
refitted my seat, finished working out the last bits i need to finish the engine off, then started looking at a new brake set up ;) -
I might be the spilter on the bulkhead under the inlet, as me a sparky don't use one we just use t pieces instead, but I am not sure
-
idrees are you getting fuild to the brakes? i know it sounds daff but have you try open one of the bleed nipples and see if there fuild at the brakes? you might just have a huge air lock,
-
as the weather isnt great here i got on with the last bits of cleaning inside the engine, so with that done i started to crank on and build up the bottom end, first was to clean the crank and block ready for the main bearings, next was to make sure the bearings were covered in oil, thrust bearings were placed in, then to place the crank on the bearings the main caps were fitted ready to torgue up now, just a pic of the bearings that have been fitted

right as you lot know i ordered the last bit of my brake lines the other day and it turned up now so i can finish the brakes until i can afford to fit twin master cylinders and a blance bar, i ended up taping the holes on the valve so i could bolt it to the fixing plate, also i need to clean up the welds as they are shocking and get it in some primer ready to spray inside at a later date, also i had a tiny bit of flock left, so i started to flock one of the new panels were the cut off switch is but sadly run out of flock

most of my mates work in the motor trader, but we all pitch in and help every other, to the limit of paying for of the cars to be mapped and transported to santa pod for a mates birthday!

mrkd5916 replied to scutch0's topic in Paseo Progress Blogs
unreal! my mate was bidding on that! it looks tidy but a shame about the sickers tho, -
tiny update! i have ordered the last bit (for now) to finish my brake lines, but i had to make up a bracket to hold the new valve so the work shop stores was my first stop! i found 2 big square washers which worked a treat as i cut one down to support the other and then this is it in in front of the handbrake, ready to be welded in

i sadly dout the police will want any think to do with this, and did the buyer pay the 4% on pay pal? -
mike long time no speak! how you getting on? and only update this weekend is that i picked the bearings for the bottom end, cheers lads, i really just started to clean the inside up i wanted to do the crank as well but i need to find out how much to reblance the crank would cost, and i might be selling my front brake lines as they are the wrong coulor, i sort out the sizes for you,
-
your take the head off, the block will be stamped, on the face were the head gasket sits, with the numbers that relate to the pistons.
-
i just been sorting out the pic's on my laptop as the loads of rubbish on it , i did find some of the pictures of the things i done for my neice christening last year! what do you think??
-
whoop! its getting there now! right had a packet come yesterday with my new ht leads for V, form cj performance, and there in a lovely blue to match the other bits ! also i started to work on the block as it back all rebore to fit the new pistons, i have started to polish the inside of the bottom end, not touching the bores or were the bearings sit. on the 4/5e blocks there a easy mark to follow so you are no were near any of the bearings, i hope this will help keep the engine cleaner and not trap any rubbish in the roughness of the casting,

i was thinking about cutting a hole though and welding the cage to the floor and the bar
-
right i been hiding at work today and got talking to some guys, that are welders for a sidecar team that are 2 units a away from my work. i asked them about welding a cage for my glanza, but they said that the main hoop looks like it would end up going though this part, so my question is what the hell is it for as i think is to stiffen up where the seat belts bolt too, and would it be safe to cut a hole and past the main hope though it?

i understand that you dont want to but if your a apprentice then you do get the crap jobs, i been at one job, were they said to me about cleaning the bog, and i packed my tools up, and the managers shit them self! and ending up offered me more money to stay! but sadly that isnt the case any more as jobs are hard to find now. look at this way if your cleaning the bog, tidying up emtpy the bins ect, it is easy money as there are more stressful jobs to be doing!
-
this is a easy answer for me, i would just disappear.
