went to start my car this morning and it started but with a miss fire, so turned it off checked all plugs and leads etc, oil and water fine. re started it it burbled a bit then was sound. thought no more of it till i went out again an hour ago and noticed a fair bit of steam coming out the exhaust. this time i checked the heaters (not working) expansion tank (full) and the steam was there when it wasnt yesterday. now i will admit i was giving it a fair bit last night. but let it warm up and cool down properly. the oil is ok so what im thinking is---- headgasket gone between a waterway a

the mark is really small, is the engine out of the car? just take your time and have a look around the bottom pulley, on the engine side rim of the pulley there is a small mark, if its hard to see, when you find it put a small bit of tip ex or something on it so it can be seen easier. line that bit up with the mark on the pump housing you should feel where tdc is because the crank will go light then tight again

timing gun is used for the ignition timing mate, not engine timing. thats where you rotate your dizzy to on the adjusters to make the plugs fire right etc. have you got the cams in and correctly alighned? theres 2 dots on one cam, and one big dot on the other, i cant member which way round they are though. get them in, put your cam pulley on and move it round to the 4e mark on it, move the bottom crank pulley round so the marks alighn for tdc and should be about there

quite funny you say about micra. all my mates call mine a micra, but the best thing is its the micra that beats all of there boring corsas and crap hands down. so in short there doing nothing but insulting themselves lol

ive been on voda for 4 years now, and i never loose signal anywhere really, the price is fair enough but thats what you get when you want the newest phone etc.

surely your engine would be at tdc when your cams were timed, if you put the engine so cyl1 & cly 4 are at tdc (the mark is on the crack pulley) then line your cams with the dots it will be fine, i did mine like this and it runs bob on, obv you have to time it all together once you get your cam pulley on for the cam belt

ive been in it all day today really, and its mint. still begging for more boost though lol, i may get the maps done with max being 1.2 bar tbh. but litterally only use it when i really feel the need to (which will probably be all the time lol) but cant afford it to go bang, that wouldnt be good at all

sparky is yours forged? i dont dare go above 1 bar. its my daily so if it blows im in the shit lol, do you think its worth having the .8 setting or not? from what youve said i could be running 155-170 at .6, and 210-220 at a push at a bar, so i assume .8 would be somewhere about the 190 mark on a good map? aha pics will be coming soon, the bay needs a clean yet. its all heat wrapped so its not the prettiest thing youve seen but i hope its effective lol

FINALLY got it all on and running sweet. its running a wepr evo kit, custom screamer and extension (which sounds mental), tuning developments pump. and the wastegate is set at 10psi (just under .6 bar) so may i ask, what do you think i will be running at the following pressures (mapped on emb) 0.6 bar 0.8 bar 1bar? its at .6 atm off the wastegate spring, and i cant beleive the difference from the ct9. absolutely amazing im looking to run.6 daily, .8 when i fancy a bit more on a fast run out somwhere and 1 bar purely for taking it down the strip and hammering morons off the lights lol wh

search for dhpsport on ebay, theyll make anything you want. i ordered some pipe for exaclty what your planning earlier. came to 30 quid delivered, although mines for a td04 and hks mushroom. they can supply all clamps, hoses everyhting really

im looking to get my emb mapped in a couple of weeks time. i live near nottingham but am willing to travel a fair distance to get it done properly and well. ive spoken to dave at tmd and they do a road map on the car, and nick at td does it on the rollers. is there any preference as to which is the best way to do it? and has anyone got any opinions or other places that are worth trying as well?

need the top one, i had to extend mine because it wasnt long enough to reach the plug, dog shit thing. also i had to cut the old cat box up to get it out because it was properly welded in there

na id think that, but its a car i would notice anyway, there are generally more, there were non for the first few months but since about november theres been a few more appear

when i bought my V in june last year there wasnt a single one in the towns that are local to me, now theres at least 3 in my nearest town and im pretty sure 4 in the other place. have they got popular where you are recently, because id never seen one myself (or known that i had) until about last april. must be a trend setter out this way lolol ;) no wonder they've come down in price so much

i had some little lad video me on his phone when i was sat at the traffic lights and when i pulled off, couldnt help but laugh. at least he looked like we was videoin anyway.

we have one samll cinema in out town which does tickets at 3.50 each on mondays and wednesdays, rest of time its 7 quid. but the odeon in lincoln is i think 12 quid standard seat and standard film, for 3d im sure it goes up to 15 quid a ticket, and thats not even preier seats. as you can imagine we dont go there very much lol
