  1. i spent 160 quid this week on some new bits that would hopefully stop the knocking thats coming from the front drivers side, i bought new drop links and poly bushes, new lower ball joints, new track rod ends, and a pillowball mount form the d2s that was suspected to be the cause. now the car does feel a million times better, alot tighter and it feels completely different to drive in a good way, but the knocking is still there. now this has got alot worse recently, to the point now where i can feel the vibrations of the each knock coming through the floor pan. you dont need to be a genius to work out that somethings wrong. theres no play from the wheel bearings that i can feel and the wishbone bushes all look ok. can anyone think what else it can be? cv joint i dont know becuase it knocks all the time, although more when turning left ie putting weight on the side that seems to be the problem. im not a millionaire at the mo and getting the bits above had about cleared me out till the end of the month, so looks like its overdraft time again. whats the likelyhood of the following, cv joints (inner or outer?), wheel bearings (even though there is no play) or the full coilover on that side being completely foookkedd? might help to add that that side took quite a nast knock a few months back, which was all sorted out at the time, but now the kncoking as started. help me please its driving me insane and obv not doing the car any good at all.
  2. i used a drill lol
  3. have you got a paddle clutch? mine does it if you try and pull off using hardly any revs, but its one of the spec 6 puk paddle ones. a standard or uprated standard clutch should be in my experience
  4. get the middle lined up and put a screw in each side of the lower middle bit, then work round from each one bending it round as you go, takes a good few screws but its about the only way itll hold and look good, where the bumper curves on the corners tighter you may need a heat gun to warm it up, i used one on mine., tbh think youll struggle without one. part from that a job well done
  5. that looks the tits, one of the best looking gts ive seen i reckon
  6. would you really ever buy a car off someone like that. no wonder its so cheap lol
  7. mine makes a knocking noise when i drive and i was told thats the pillowball at the top of the strut, creaking could be your anti roll bar drop links, mine does it as well, soon to see if its solved though ive ordered a new pillowball mount for mine (£60) to hopefully get rid of the knocking, ordered new droplinks and poly bushes, track rod ends and some other bits to cure it. ill post back if the pillow ball and drop links stop the noises

  15. i liked that low n slow one, had a fooking great sound system, think the lad was a dj or something, saw some cards on his dash that said so anyway, least i think it was his car. what you think to the black civic coupe? thats who i was there with lol

  18. i have an emanage blue, cost me 240 quid with everything needed to fit it. i havent got it on yet as lost job and havent got enough to get it mapped yet, but like you i need reliability but want to run about 210-200hp. i am on td04 as well. surely if your tracking it you will want the best map for it, instead of an easy plug and play? i dont know how good they are but surely they cant be as good as physicaslly having the ecu mapped to you exact set up and car and how/where you drive it?
  19. ah fair enough, least theres gonna be a good few starlets there then hope it stays dry. be a right shit hole if not
  20. sound what you running if you dont mind me asking? any rough ideas what i should be doing it in? td04 on wepr kit, .6bar boost fmic full pipe etc?
  21. whos off to the pod this weekend for the fast show then? ive never been before so hopefully be a good experience, might even have her took down the strip
  22. idiots or what. how can you even compare a saxo to a starlet. jap v french. not even a competition really is there. my mate has a 106 gti and hes had nothing but trouble since the day he bought it. been in and out of garages non stop for electrical problems. and id rather have a 106 than a saxo any day. at least there a bit more grown up than the 15 year olds dream for a first car
  23. surely someone can fix them? i know its not ideal and will still cost money and time. but at least it would leave you with a working unit??
