  1. Well the engine is in on the mounts now, it needs to be hooked up though. I have been feeling rough as hell this week so couldnt get much done without spewing on everything i came into contact with. I still feel terrible now. I want to do some work on it tonight but im literally sitting here at my work desk sweating and feeling like shit. I am off to Lisbon tomorrow for a week so plan to chill out and sink a few beers I'll see if i can get some pics tonight
  2. I think the power envelope tails off a shit load after 1.0bar on the ct9, it starts blowing lots of hot air instead. I wouldnt run it a 1.2bar other than in scramble mode, for the odd race
  3. lol its a lonely existance on the ep70 leaderbord!
  4. Ha ha mine had been on my car for about 4 years!! alot of grime and shit in them
  5. welcome to hell with D2 coilovers, they are a complete nightmare to adjust once they have been on the car and rusted/covered in gunk. I had to take mine off completly and put them in a vice with a blow torch to heat them up and then whack the collars off. You can get them off just be patient, soak them in parafin over night or some other degreasant. If you want to raise or lower your car never adjust it by the spring, always do it by the collar at the bottom and wind if up or down on the thread as required. If you adjust the preload on the spring it will just cock your suspension up and ruin
  6. when you rotate it you undo both sides of the turbo, this way you can turn the oil dran so it points downwrds (this is a must) and then rotate your compressor housing to what ever direction is best to connect to your intercooler piping. I bought some extra fittings from viperperformance and reused my ct9 fmic was a bit fildy but it worked a treat
  7. how much did the godziller turbo kit cost?
  8. My old track car had a shoddy rusty radiator which i replaced with a nice aluminium one, but the rust which was in the engine system still, has contaminated the new radiator and no matter how many times i fush it its always REALLY rusty, so rusty in fact you look inside the pipes and rad and its all completly orange. What can i put in my radiator system to eat away all this excess rust? its driing me crazy!
  9. Bit of an update, engine is all back together now with the gearbox, i just finished it Also gave it a spray too to spruce it up a bit Next is sorting out an engine crane to put it in, - Nearly there!! I am a bit miffed i cant make japfest 2 with it as I still have quite a bit of work to do even when its in the car, but at least its progress!
  10. Hey John, yeah i pulled it apart the other day and resealed the bloody thing. Bit of a pain in the arse but its done now Still cant believe i missed that, its not documented very clearly in the manaul and missed it. So the engine is all built ready to go, next was onto my gearbox! It had been jumping out of 5th gear so I needed to fix that before i put the box back on. This again has been a royal pain in my ass. Mainly down to me buying shit tools from ebay!! I needed a gear puller to get the 5th gear off and the one i bought stripped its own thread when i did it up, so i was like argggghhh
  11. fuck me that actually just made me say "holy fuck in front of the my mother lol!! oops
  12. Yeah you will whoop him easy, here is me in my td04 1 bar in the ep70 racing the rx8. I wasnt even giving it full beans because my suspension was rubbing so bad on the corners. I drag raced him later in the week and whooped him easy off the lights, did struggle a bit to get the power down though! http://www.youtube.c...bed/u8Umni6UNd0 http://www.youtube.c...bed/phh27J_Ed6Y
  13. The piston bores will be super smooth, its called "glazed" they are not supposed to be rough on an engine which is run in. You would only ever have a rough surface when the bore has been cross hatched and honed ready to accept new piston rings. If they were not smooth when running normally your engine wouldnt be able to make a good seal with the piston rings.
  14. did he go bust or somthing and tuck a load of members up while he was at it?
  15. Hey Morgey, repairing the 5th gear jump out syndrome is actually a fairly simple job. You can do it on the car without having to remove the gearbox i would imagine also too.
  16. haha a bit of searching and i found this little gem, problem solved! http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=100
  17. My 5th gear is currently popping out all the time, i have taken the gearbox cover off showing off the 5th gear asembly. I have another gearbox which i am just going to do a straight swap with the 5th gears. I dont want to go damaging anything as I know you have to pull off the 5th gear with a puller. Although I am not 100% on the process for this can someone explain what i should do to take them off so i can swap them out. Currently it looks like this (i havent taken the big nut off which is normally on the left) I have a replacement 5th gear, how do i remove it do get it like this! Can some
  18. Ok look like i can change over the 5th gear without to much trouble, i dont even need to open up the box, only just the end cover! Just found a brilliant write up on taking apart and rebuilding the C52 gearbox :@ http://www.ae92gts.com/ae92gts_trans_rb_1.html
  19. Yeah I have been whacking and whacking on it all day and night and not even a press has had any luck, maybe if i whack it the other way to try and free it up like you said (off i go to the shed!) Does anyone know how to change a 5th gear selector also?
  20. well at least i didnt fit it into the car and then realise i had dont that!!
