No I never did quote you because you never bothered sending me photos and to be honest I'm glad I didn't bother lol. Regardless of what the lights are brand new, charging 100+ for some standard rear lights is still ridiculous to me. They're nothing special. I'm not selling it as a bundle of parts. I thought you were a nice guy in person and was happy to do it practically for minimum wage over the day it would have taken. For the effort it would have taken to repair anything, prep, paint, wrap and post it back to you, I may as well have kicked myself in the balls. Pretty sure it's obvious that I will no longer be offering this lol. I was told by numerous people that you can buy the lenses from toyota cheaper than you were selling them. I haven't checked myself but trust the people that were telling me. I didn't say I asked for quotes, I was comparing the finish to other people who have had resprays and what they paid for theirs. I've researched paint prices for years seeing as I needed guides on what to charge myself and know that for a decent paint job with shuts done, bumpers off doors off boot off bonnet off etc followed by a flat and a polish is always around £1,500 at the cheapest. Not to mention that I removed numerous dents, scuffs and scrapes. The whole purpose of this thread is that people sell PARTS at a price where people are not willing to pay for them or pay for them reluctantly. I said ages ago that maybe we should value the cars more and the parts less instead of the other way around to help convince people from breaking them all the time. What I paid for the car is none of your business neither is what I've spent on it. But for the sake of argument all of your prices are wrong, the car owes me around £3,300 when I've done the engine bay and clutch and i'm hoping I already have some tyres that will fit in good condition. So paying myself £500 for a months work respraying the car to you seems expensive? I've had numerous prices on wheel refurbishing too and if they're in such a state that he made out, they probably needed blasting, smoothing and repairing before then painting or powder coating inside and outside if you want to do it properly. Even still at 20 less a wheel it's over £400 which is more than the going rate for some already in mint condition.

Coming from someone selling rear lights more expensive than toyota lol. Mate the whole topic is about selling second hand parts not cars. I bought a mk1 because it's the original gt, I bought it so cheap because it was in a bad shape, it had numerous running problems along with bodywork issues that I have gradually fixed over the period that I've had it and done to a high standard. The respray in contrast to other resprays I've compared to, would have cost around £1,500. So the respray and the car alone is £3,000. The fact I can paint cars for a living is irrelevant. The suspension, exhaust, td04 conversion which is braced also before you start slating that, front mount, fuel pressure regulator, cam belt, rear lights, standard wheel, gaskets amongst other stuff all cost me money, I'm changing the clutch and painting the engine bay, I'm painting the wheels and changing the tyres, I'm doing the tracking and giving everything a once over, all before I actually sell it on. Also then not to mention that £3,800 is a rough bash in the park going off what I've spent on it and the work I've put in along with taking into account it's a mk1 in absolute solid condition. I'm happy to listen to offers. As it stands it's not going anywhere until it's done. You obviously didn't read what my rant was about and probably took offence seeing as you're one of the members selling stuff at extortionate prices. A whole car finished to a nice standard with months of constant work put into it in my eyes is worth a few hundred quid more than what was spent on it, just for sheer effort put in. However that isn't the case seeing as I wouldn't even be making anything at 3,800 which I doubt to get for it and ill end up taking a loss but in turn I've kept a nice example of a mk1 on the road instead of it hitting a scrap heap like dai said it would have gone or even more typical being broken for bits. 60 does sound like a good price in general but then if they're scabby and need refurbishing then most professionals charge roughly £80 a wheel and then if you need tyres that's another £150 at least. So £530 later you can have a nice set of wheels with new budget tyres. Is it really that cheap? I appreciate that from first thought they might seem cheap but when you realistically think about it, it's a fair price and i'm sure the new owner appreciates that they need a lot of work hence the price.

Just lost interest matey. I'm comparing it to the mk3 I used to have which was stripped out and aggressive in every way with how it drove, and that's what I missed and the reason I bought this, but I can't bring myself to ruin it by stripping the interior and welding a cage in, cutting the doors apart to be light weight and then generally being hard on it all the time. I feel someone else should take it and enjoy it for what it is, an old original soon to be classic with a few subtle but essential mods. I had a feeling you might comment. I'm expecting Daniel g to pop up too lol. I'm willing to negotiate and bump the price down if I need to. I'd be a cunt to bump it up though . Once it's finished to the standard that I intend I feel it will be worth every penny. I'm expecting some abuse. I feel I've turned the car from a sorry state to a high standard for someone to make their own. With the stuff I wanted to do I think it would ruin it as a mk1. I think it should be kept tidy and original with subtle changes. Up to the next owner what they decide to do but I couldn't bring myself to be ruthless with it... Year:1990 Model:Mk1 GT Turbo snow edition. Tax:Rendered useless by the time sale clears due to new laws. MOT:March I think. Will double check. Mileage:85k Description: Firstly this car will not be ready for another month or so. I know it can take time to sell a car hence the advert in advance. I bought this mk1 from a member on the forum earlier in the year and have slowly brought it back up to standard. Since owning I have resprayed the whole car in original 040 white, chsnged the turbo set up to a td04 boosting 0.8 bar with approximately 200bhp. Along with that I fitted a front mount behind the front bumper without cutting it, I've also run the pipes as short as possible for it to be more efficient. I've fitted a SARD fuel pressure regulator which has a gauge and is set to 3 bar of pressure which is said commonly to be perfect for .8 on td04. I've also fitted a 5zigen pro racer exhaust which sounds raw and unique. I've lowered it on Kyb shocks and rsr springs. The car comes with some optional extras such as wind deflectors, illumination ignition barrel and a full set of carpets in mint condition. There is also the alpine optional speakers on the parcel shelf which are in working order. The interior in general is really tidy and original bar the steering wheel which is from a mk3 gt. I've also changed the cam belt as well as fix numerous other problems since owning this now nice example of a mk1. All the underside and behind panels is immaculate with no rust. There is so much more to list which I will write out clearer when I'm at a desktop. However before the car is sold I will be changing the clutch as it slips a little and I will also be painting the engine bay to look as brand new. I will also be changing the tyres so that they are legal as a few have just passed the limit. I will also be flattening and polishing the whole car as I have not done this yet since painting it. I also have mk1 rear lights to put back on the car and I am also currently refurbishing the glow panel to look new again. The genuine reason for selling is I've lost interest and want to move onto a different car. Price: The price when finished will be listed at £3,800 although I am open to offers so don't be shy to negotiate with me, I'm very reasonable. I do already have numerous people interested so if it does come to it, the highest bidder will get the car. I think it only applies to businesses as they need a licence to use solvent paints in the first place. If you can still buy it on the shelf then you can still use it. I think anyway. I researched it before I painted some bits for my car in the garden incase I upset the neighbors and that's what I found in the end. I may be wrong so it's worth searching Google yourself lol. I meant to ask the paint shop what laws apply to members of the public but I forgot.

If you actually have a look, 7k is way way at the high end of any ek9. And I understand supply and demand thank you. Maybe you should research "opinion" and "spendthrift" before you comment on pricing again.

Not sure where you've been looking lol. Imprezas are not that expensive from my experience (providing you're not looking at a new one) and i'm sure you could get a fine example for under 4k. Granted the rest are a little more but I'm sure there are still nice examples to be had for 4 grand. Would anyone spend 7 grand on a 20 year old civic? Unless it was like 700 bhp and showered with high quality parts lol. Seems a bit of an over valuation personally

I've been training on and off for a few years now and recently probably hit my all time low lol. I've always struggled with a set routine and have no idea what to make when it comes to eating or how to stay focused and motivated. Would love a routine to follow at home with dumbells, barbells and some resistant bands along with a diet plan to lose about a stone in fat and eventually just tone up in general.

You can get 3 poly mount for roughly £60-70 second hand. Spend a little extra and get a full set of decent mounts on there.
