Only if the pulley comes adrift (moves about freely) this is then effected. If this was the case I would then suggest to whip the bolt up and turn over by hand to make sure the timing is still correct (making sure engine doesn't lock up). Those other three bolts are only bolted to the "main" pulley on which the cambelt is driven on. If you remove the big bolt in the middle and remove pulley you are taking away the bottom part for which the cambelt is on. I hope this makes sense
-
No problem mate hope you get it sorted!
-
If you are taking the cam belt off anyway and retiming it up. Then you wouldn't have done anything wrong just tighten the bolt back up and undo the other three instead hope this helps mate!
-
It sounds to me like you have undone the WHOLE bottom pulley. I've never worked on a saxo so I don't know whether I am 100% correct but on some cars the bottom pulley is in two halves. One half is where cambelt would sit on and the other half is where the alternator belt would sit. It sounds like you have undone the bottom pulley including the cambelt part. If this is the case you MAY get away with just tightening back up but if It was my car I defo crank over by hand before starting up. Hope this helps mate. Also if the bottom pulley hasn't actually come away from the engine then you should

You are in the same boat I was. I wanted to service the car but like you say it's pointless if the oil is just going to piss out everywhere. Keep us posted on how you get on mate

I would defo suggest oil pump seal. Like you say just replace the lot if need be, for the sake of the price of an oil pump may aswell replace. ID WORKZ do the pump for around £100. Hope you get it sorted soon mate

Oil pump seal mate..? Mine was the same and replaced it! All fine after that. ^^ that's assuming you mean cambelt end?
