I'm not sure mate to be honest. I don't have a oil pressure gauge and I know the bearings have never been replaced. The car has done 152.000km on it's original engine. Serviced regularly every 5k miles. What are the symptoms for worn rod bearings? Knocking... is there any others? I spose the only way to tell is to have a look.

Is there a service life on them and when should they be replaced? The reason i ask is because I think my car is developing a very minor knock so want to catch it before it damages the crank, what is it more Likely to be? Rod bearings or crankshafts bearings? Sorry for the confusing questions but if you don't understand then I will try and simplify it. Thanks

I work for a vw dealership and as far as I can make out the bocanegra has the same engine as the polo gti and in all fairness there shit, MOST of them have been back for new engines because the pistons just arent strong enough to take the power. if your thinking of thrashing it about all the time then definatly swerve away from them and incase you didn't know the noise is all fake, they have installed a speaker in the dashboard to enhance the noise << this is on the polo so can't see the bocanegra being any different. The golf gti on another hand, my friend has a 2.0l turbo mk5 gti and its an absolute animal, 300bhp DSG. They can be very nice cars but its just getting a good example, for 10k you can get an immaculate one. Good luck though mate

I have a set of 040 white rota gt3's 16" for swaps, they have good tyres all round very minor marks on the wheel, i would like a set of rota track r's in white preferably 16" with tyres if possible. I haven't seen many track r's about so I am probably pushing my luck but worth a try Will get pics on request Thanks.

I apologise I didn't know it was rebuilt lol nah don't give up just keep cracking on with it I'm sure it's something simple like a pipe come off or split just go over everything you touched to remove it let us know when you sort it!

I would check for vacuum leaks mate, check that your intake isn't blocked if your meshed, check for cracked manifold/downpipe, intercooler pipes split, intercooler split/cracked check for all the obvious things first, failing that turbo could be knackerd Hope you get it sorted mate
