11 or 12 so far, would you like me to stick down?
-
Sorry to hear mate, hope you get it sorted, or find the person responsible
-
Thats fine, I'll drop you a text about 10mins before we set off.
-
No worries mate, We will be leaving Titanic quarter around 11:30 if you can make it.
-
This is still going ahead this weekend, if anyone else is interested?

I've been speaking with my neighbour who is a mechanic, he's not going to charge me for labour which is excellent, but I will need to replace the rings, head gasket and head bolts. Spoke with the company that built the engine, have to call them back in the morning as I didn't have the invoice to had. So hopefully they will pay for the head gasket etc.
-
Smiths engineering, they are a well established engine remanufacturer.
-
The rings weren't replaced, it only on acceleration it burning the oil.
-
Its the worst feeling ever. You spend a bit extra to future proof it and bam, it needs to be pulled apart again. Going to phone them tomorrow and see what they have to say.
-
Yeah, I had a mechanic check it out 100% piston rings. The valve stem oil seals were replaced when the engine was rebuilt.
-
Well I've back on the road 5 days now, done less than 150 miles and my new built engine has shit the piston rings. On the way to work this morning and clouds of blue smoke. I thought I would spent a bit of money to ensue the engine was built correctly. Being new to building engines etc I wasn't sure what exactly was needed, so I told the sales rep and thing else that's needed give me a shout and I will be happy to source it. I assumed everything was a ok as they didn't ring. To add insult to injury I came out of work to find some theiving git though it would be nice to leave me

The fse one seems like a safe bet. RHD Japan are doing limited edition Sard ones for £80 at the moment, so that's quite tempting.
-
Yeah, I've been having a good look at them. Seem good value for money, easy to adjust. Have you got a gauge attached to yours?
-
Well I've a funny feeling I've got a dodgy one. There seems to be a few options out there. Unbranded eBay one £25ish Unbranded eBay ones £65 FSE Sard Fuelab Syntec Aeromotive Which ones are most reliable, value for money. Good and bad experiences?

Meet / Event Organisers for specific areas.

Thanks for the input. It would be great to see UKSO stands at local shows. I'm happy and sure other members are happy to make a donation to have banners etc. Yeah I completely agree with both of you guys. We don't want to be booking a stand and no one turning up, as that would look bad for the club also. As there are alot of local forums (RMS, Japdreamz, Showerkz, BCS etc) I'm sure members of UKSO are other sites who own Starlets would be interested in joining a UKSO stand, which could increase the attendance of UKSO stands. I'm not sure if TGTT have a stand, I don't think I've seen on -
I have glowshift gauges, need to be imprted from the States though.

Its mainly Northern Ireland / Ireland. I can't remember seeing a UKSO stand at any of the shows over here. -

Yes exactly, someone that had the time to organise meets, cruises and UKSO stands at shows. -
Great Simon! Ive copied the details over from TGTT. I'm going to organise this for the 4th of May as it seems most people are available then. Meeting in the Titanic Quarter @ 10:30 outside the visitor centre, get some good photos with the building in the background. Cruise down to Newcastle around 11-11:30. Do the usual Newcastle stuff like dodgems etc, then head up to the Silent Valley for some photos. What's everyones thoughts? & If your interested stick your name down on the list! Also I have an a spare seat if anyone wants to come as a passenger, I'm happy to pick

Welcome to UKSO pal.

Hi, Though it would be a good a idea to have someone appointed to organise events and meets for specific areas. Also some to organise stands at shows especially in N.I. since the big shows are mainly in England.
