  1. The glanza bush is the smaller one 48.5mm I think. The GT is 55mm.
  2. Hmm have you tried swapping the bushes round?
  3. These engines are known to break piston ring lands. Many people say 230bhp is the limit of the stock engine, some have had more and some have had less. I had the ring lands let go on me at standard boost on a stock turbo. So it really is hit and miss. It will also give you a good indication of how healthy the motor is as well
  4. Check the thermostat first. But pushing water into the overflow isn't a good sign. So I would get a compression/leak down test done as well to be safe.
  5. The brown wire is the ground on the ecu side, and the green/black wire goes to the ecu also, this would be the signal wire
  6. Ah right I see, as Gee said use plenty of copper grease/lithium to get it to slide through mate.
  7. Welcome along First thing I would recommend to any potential buyer is to compression test an engine upon viewing, if the seller doesn't let you do this then walk away! Other than that its just the usual checks, burning oil/water, rust, any accident damage etc.
  8. The bulbs are the ones with the black knobs on them mate. I believe you just turn them and they come out, much like a headlight bulb.
  9. Have you got a C clamp? You could put one end on the bush and one end on the rod and press it through. Providing its alligned correctly that is.
  10. If you can find one thats not rusted to fuck without paying stupid amounts.
  11. 300+ hp is easy in hotter climates due to the humidty, You'll never get that sorta hp over here in the UK.
  12. Yeah I just don't understand that setup, its either filling oil residue back into the intake (unless theres a baffle plate in the catch can) or its pressurising the can.
  13. Whats so clever about it mate? I do like the custom airbox, think thats a nice neat touch.
  14. Agree its worth that price easily, would no doubt have cost £15k to build, but no one wants to spend that sorta money on these cars no more The wheels kinda look like some Tom's wheels, can't think of the name of them though.
  15. Mm true, although I would expect the exhaust gas to be exiting the pipe to be of a greater pressure than atmosphere. I think the exhaust is so short anyway it will be a problem no matter where it goes lol. I would possibly shove it in before the back box but actually in it with the sensor pointing down slightly.
  16. Anything below 140psi is time for a rebuild.
  17. Well to get the parts, your gonna have to get them from Toyota anyway so am sure they can get you the correct ones, I'm assuming you mean the strengths are different between the gears? Yeah get them cryo treated, might as well get the synchro's carbon lined as well while your at it
  18. Just browsing through and found this http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/starlet/ep91-220bhp-sssss-spent--forged-engine-sard-turbo/1378582 Got some spec list, can't help but think it will struggle to sell for that price. Didn't think crower made rods for the E series engine so they must be custom.
  19. Why would it be inaccurate? How do you think tuners use their widebands? They shove the probe up the tailpipe. Tbh providing its not going to be providing a signal to an aftermarket ecu like a standalone then I wouldn't really worry too much where it goes, but where ever it does go it may shorten the lifespan of the sensor.
  20. Believe there was only 2 versions of the GT gearbox, the C52 which is OEM and the C153 which included the LSD. Then theres the OEM glanza box which was C56. Personal opinion here, I would rebuild the box you have, atleast you know it'll be 100% and will be able to take the power for a little while. Its a bit pot luck with these boxes now as they are getting on a bit.
  21. Well you guys got lucky. Its 135.9p for 95 RON at Tesco here, Momentum 99 is 142.9p I think and Shell the nearest one to me 95 RON is 145.9p, don't know what V power is as I never go in and have a look lol.
  22. Have a read here, will answer all your questions http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?20735-FMIC-comparisons-King-thread&highlight=fmic+king
  23. You could drill a hole in the tip and fit it in there, but problem is with that like you say is the bumper. If you can angle the sensor you may get away with it if the tip doesn't stick too far out.
  24. Yeah mr2 boxes fit, its the c50/c150 I believe. But like I said, not sure on the ratio's, I'd expect them to be shorter because its a heavier car. A lightweight car can get away with long ratio's because its easier to propel the car.
  25. Civic will always handle better because of the adjustability of the chassis. I can see a B16/B18/K20 producing more power as well because the block is of a better design. They run closed deck blocks and wet liners.
