  1. x2! Got one sat here in my box of bits. Sounds immense and not so girly like the new ones.
  2. Was a good day. Great turnout for the club
  3. Get a Tial one from Owen Developments mate.
  4. Woohooo about time buddy! At that boost I'll say 290bhp.
  5. I personally wouldn't opt to use that size piston. It wouldn't take much to buckle between the cylinders. Unless you spent a bit of money and ran a closed deck block to strengthen it.
  6. Nice one mate, did you sand it down at all? Or just literally acid primed and painted?
  7. No idea tbh mate, might be worth an email though.
  8. I think its fucking stupid idea! I had the same problem before. Don't think there is a way round it, I had to bite the bullet and pay the extra.
  9. Looking epic Jay, gonna have to have a snoop over this at JF! What paint did you use to paint the rear mate?
  10. Here's the company in the UK. Not cheap but atleast you know your buying quality. Failing that Fensport do some as well. http://www.cdfracing.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=270&osCsid=de1ddd3de07ff4b9fa1ffbb903052167
  11. Not OEM Toyota mate. Think them pistons are pretty cheap but, but I not sure I would trust them.
  12. See these the other day when I was looking for some mate. I wouldn't recommend an alloy crank pulley because it has no harmonic balancer inside (rubber ring) to dampen out the harmonic vibrations from the power stroke. Other pulleys look good though and at a good price, there is a company in the UK that does them, will see if I can find them. Although think they was on ebay.
  13. They do 3 sizes : Size 1 - 73.91mm Size 2 - 73.92mm Size 3- 73.93mm
  14. You can increase the bore size but you'll need to use oversized pistons. Ie forged pistons as Jamie said. There is a limit on how much you can hone the stock cylinders before a rebore to oversized pistons is needed but don't have it to hand atm. You won't need any cooling upgrades, but proper maintenence of the cooling system is paramount. Edit: The largest bore size you can go to without having to rebore to suit oversize is 74.030mm. The largest OEM piston size is 73.93mm.
  15. When you move in, make a list of bills for each month and a total for that month. Some bills are different amounts at various points in the year. Keep it to hand and try setup as many direct debits as possible. Most companies offer a discount paying direct debits, and also opt for paperless billing, that also offers a discount. My electric and gas is on a key meter, but me and the mrs are hardly ever at home due to working, so paying a fixed amount for the year doesn't work for us as we would be paying more. Although you will get credit for the next year, its still dead money as the money
  16. The plug and play's prefer stock fuel pressure so most people seem to say. Try it at 2.4 bar first and see how you get on. Most tend to run rich anyway so I doubt the fpr will need to be used
  17. Well over 2 grands worth sat there mate! Cheers mate, gonna be a bit of a pain in the shitter to do, but might as well do it now and do it properly whilst the car is stripped to bare bones lol.
  18. Will be fine to run with a FPR, always a good component to have to maximise your fuel setup.
  19. I'll build the engine when I'm happy with the shell really mate. No point building an engine thats just gonna sit on a stand for 6 months. I finished uni for the summer now, got 2 exams next week so as soon as they are finished I'll be cracking on the with shell, hopefully be all ready by September/October time to accept the engine
  20. I'm not after huge HP, if I was I would have just slapped a GT35 or T4 on there lol. My aim is to kinda build the ultimate street machine mainly based around circuit, but still have an edge at drag as well. I'll be happy if I make 350hp, not looking to run this turbo at its max, but looking to run it in its max efficiency zone so I don't put stress on the engine during circuit racing. Although I may have a map setup for like 2+ bar for when the odd Lambo, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston owner fancies a play
  21. You got a 28 mate? Thought you went 30, must have another read of your build thread lol. Am sure it will stay rust free, mine won't be driven in shit weather anyway, and will try wrap it as much as I can. Cheers Todd, appreciate it Ta fella, still got plenty more goodies up my sleeve yet
  22. Looks cracking buddy! If you had the time and some spare cash I would say get it ceramic coated and heat wrapped, if not heat wrap will do fine!
  23. Well I took the turbo down to Owens yesterday (Tuesday) at 3pm, and got it back today at 3pm with everything I had asked for! Cracking service and I can't fault them at all. I had the Tial .64 AR V-band turbine housing put on with Owens own 360 degree thrust clamps as they told me the Tial ones are prone to coming loose. They also rotated the turbo for me and I grabbed a Tial MVS 38mm wastegate whilst I was there also. Anyway some pics Here's the 360 degree thrust clamp set http://s164.photobucket.com/user/BoobZ18/media/Toyota%20Starlet%205
  24. £250 you can get a greddy kit! I think a 12 row is probably overdoing it slightly, you could easily get away with like a 9-10 row cooler. I'm sure you can make your own kit for cheaper though, just get a mocal thermostat, a core from ebay and then all you need is some fittings and hose which any hydraulics place can make up providing you know the length you need.
  25. It's hardly fucking about mate, it's called Physics and the Truth. Yes it will work, and yes it will take more boost/ignition advance, but you won't get the same drive, same mpg, same HP or torque. You can't have everything there is ALWAYS a sacrifice.
