  1. Should be alright mate, whats the CCA of it? Starlets only need a tiny battery anyway because its a small engine and low compression to turn over, so pretty much a moped battery could turn it over. Edit. Just looked on Demon Tweeks and it will be more than up for the job mate. If buying brand new your probably better off going for something smaller and saving some cash.
  2. Yeah mate, if you route it the way I said, you can ditch the hi-lo solenoid and all the piping, it will make the button on the dash useless though. It will run constantly high boost 0.65 bar.
  3. Port of actuator - turbo compressor housing, job done. T-piece in that pipe your boost gauge or just run it from the inlet manifold. This way ditches the hi-lo solenoid by the way.
  4. You only have to drop the sump and put a washer in there, no harm in dropping the sump once or twice during run in period anyway to remove any swarf shit from the bottom. Colin makes a good point though, if you are expecting to run a high rev limit its adviseable to increase the oil pressure to ensure the bottom end does effectively run dry at such high revolutions.
  5. x2, one side of the filter will be sucking in hot air, the other cold. Pointless really, might as well just run the standard airbox.
  6. Personally I would run an aftermarket gauge and try it first, some engines are different to others so will respond differently to more or less oil pressure. Failing that run a proper standalone ecu and have an oil pressure warning system set so it cuts the engine when oil pressure drops below 1 bar

    Obd1 port

I'm sure they don't have OBD. They have their own self check system by flashing the EML.
  8. The top four bolts hold the damper unit to the strut tower. The middle one holds the piston unit, Or on a shock and spring setup holds the spring sometimes.
  9. I would change the ball joint mate and get it aligned. If the ball joint has split and the grease has come out or got dust in there it effectively makes the joint seize up going stiff.
  10. Its in percentage of maximum turbo boost pressure mate. Its just a trial and error thing, start off low until you reach the desired boost pressure, then raise the gain till it starts overboosting slightly then back off a few points till it holds boost perfect.
  11. Not so much crazy but impressive none the less 2nd gear winners http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRzbytonO-M
  12. Like £22 delivered mate? Brand new in the box never used them as my engine blew on my old starlet before I had a chance to throw em in. Won't be needing them for my new build I doubt. Best to check the gaps anyway mate. The gap you want to be the biggest possible without blowing the spark out, the larger the gap the stronger the spark.
  13. Either the coil or ignitor, they are earthed through the bracket onto the firewall, so make sure its getting a good earth there as well. I think I may have a set of heat range 7 irridums in my toolbox mate if your interested?
  14. A symptom of a coil/ignitor is that they give a missfire at a specific rpm and then it stops. Might be worth chucking a set of new plugs in there anyway mate just to rule it out.
  15. Ah nice one mate, let me know when your getting rid mate I'll take em off your hands The bottom end I virtually have all the bits for, just need a gasket kit. It's just the cylinder head I need to work on now getting it ported and some cams. Wow nice specs, is that 11mm valve lift? Thats huge, I won't be going for anything near that, something like 272 with 8.5mm-8.8mm valve lift. I will have to check my compression ratio when I get the head ported because I think its already going to be quite high with a 1.2mm headgasket on the 5E engine with its longer stroke. My dad dr
  16. Coil or ignitor mate. Will it pick up again after 6k or does it just completely drop off the power?

    Ported engine ??

Leave a head alone unless you know how it makes power. Porting a head does not necessarily gain hp or improve spool time. It depends how restricted the head is in the first place. Pissing about with a cylinder head makes or breaks engine performance. Porting a cylinder head used to be 90% material removal and 10% shaping, now its 90% shaping and 10% removing material. Unless looking to make 300bhp + I would put the money else where.
  18. Are the quads and square lamps the same indicators mate? Thought they were different. Let me know when you getting rid mate
  19. Nice one I'll drop him a message Cheers buddy, need to get off my ass and continue with sanding the rear down. I just need a set of indicators now to finish off the front, what do people reckon, go for ambers or clear?
  20. m6 I believe they are mate.
  21. Does he have the pink ones mate? I see on the store the blue ones are available but don't have the dates on them ones
