  1. Think it was enginebuildermagazine that spread was in Yeah his seminar is in Swansea uni 7-9th september mate.
  2. I thought those topics were covered in his seminars, or is that what you mean? I'm sure he's also published that in one of his books, think its "How to build horsepower".
  3. No I don't think David compared to other filters as the video is quite old I think. But the main thing to understand is that, run with an air filter it prolongs the life of your stock and forged engine, running witouth an air filter doesn't increase performance it actually decreases it due to the quality of the air. How well will an Apexi filter air even when its clogged up with dirt? Lets face it, who can be bothered to clean the outside diameter of the filter in a solvent every month? Also our cars are used for road more often than not, you will pick up more shit on the road than you will on
  4. Agreed! The blokes a genius and I don't think there are many other people out there with the knowledge he has! Wish he would post up a calender of dates/places where hes doing seminars
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1BZg6aCGd8 Watch from 4:26 onwards. Forget the engine as it's an A series, but the principle reamins the same. David Vizard with over 50 years design, development and tuning experiance with engines ;)
  6. Warm engine and WOT ;) Sounds about right though for throttle closed, should be up around 150-160 with it open. Generally isn't that much difference between having the throttle opened or closed, its more important that the numbers read within 1 bar (14.5psi) of each other.
  7. HKS ones are pretty good, but K&N are the best. Lets face it the amount of money they pour into R&D you couldn't compare with others ;)
  8. I'd like to see that Lew, no doubt a "race" inlet will make more power off the same setup, but will it improve spool time? I doubt it unless the stock item becomes restrictive, which in most peoples setups it doesn't.
  9. Got a dyno graph Bean? Is the VF23 the equivalent to the td04? imo numbers is pub talk, it may only make 130bhp up till 4500rpm. It's all about making the power useable for what you intend to use the car for. All you have to do is look at Spuddy's car, it makes 570bhp, but at 4000rpm it makes 63bhp! Thats 70bhp less than stock!
  10. Ah fair enough, makes sense lol.
  11. Whats happened to the gauging interest part of the sales section? Am I the only one that can't see it or has it been removed?
  12. lol not that mate, but I think some people are miss-told information and believing what they say as it makes them money!
  13. Hate people like this, it doesn't matter if its a starlet or any other car they are all dicks! This thread is comedy, but mega kudos for the lads giving out information, the bloke looks like a compelte p3nis in fairness.
  14. One will be the lambda (oxygen) sensor and the other is a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is not needed and can be left out.
  15. In all honesty, not much. Just increase lag/change the powerband. The stock item has been proven to work upto and over 350bhp.
  16. Wouldn't bother with aftermarket ones, they will probably just leak. OEM is plenty good enough
  17. Varies between ep82 and ep91 but here they are... http://www.camskill.co.uk/m19b0s1312p7029/TEIN_S_TECH_LOWERING_SPRING_KITS_-_S_Tech_Lowering_Springs_-_Starlet_Turbo_%28III%29_STARLET_GT_EP82_%28III%29_%28also_EP91_for_a_lesser_drop%29 http://www.camskill.co.uk/m19b0s1312p7617/TEIN_S_TECH_LOWERING_SPRING_KITS_-_S_Tech_Lowering_Springs_-_Starlet_Turbo_%28III%29_STARLET_GT_EP91_TURBO
  18. There are 2 breathers on the E series cam cover as they have no direct crank breather. The PCV is only open when the engine is not boosting ( I think thats the right way round). The breather to the left of the cam cover generally goes to a catch can, some people just stick a filter on top and some link it to a catch can. It is possible to link both to a catch can.
  19. Anyone tried the XYZ 6 pot kit? Bit cheaper than the Ksports as well. Sorry to hijack thread but its another company in the mix lol.
  20. Zisco, but then i'm biased as thats what i'm getting
  21. As said just swap them over from the other engine mate, might take a bit of wd40 to unscrew it though.
  22. 145 at most if its a fresh rebuild, still running stock boost pressure and thats where most power is gained.
  23. Have you got a vac hose going from actuator to turbo nipple at the moment? You just using the Blitz EBC as a boost gauge?
  24. If the EML light was on for 30 seconds or more it would have stored a fault code.
