  1. It really depends what you look for in a car, yes the starlet is great. Small engine, good fuel economy, plenty of tuning potential and has power to weight on its side. However they are old, as bland as Honda interiors may be, the starlet's is well past its sell by date, they also look dated and don't handle near half as well. I loved my starlet, had plenty of fun in it, but i'm probably not alone on this but when your giving it the beans your always worried about every little noise or if something goes wrong. Been in plenty of Honda's and they are as sweet as a couch potato and cause no f
  2. You'll preferably need a better ecu to control anything larger than 550's.
  3. Recaro seats sold. Just gauges and panhard rod left.
  4. You'll have to email them. The stock combustion chamber volume is 38cc (providing your cylinder head hasn't had a skim previously), plus whatever the stock dish is on the pistons. Then you will need to work out the volume provided by the headgasket thickness.
  5. I'm sure turbosmart are the same as Tial.
  6. Dished pistons are of a far better design in a turbo motor. They may be advertised as 9:1 compression but theres more than just the pistons that make up the compression ratio of the engine. You need to find out what headgasket size and combustion chamber volume they used to get their 9:1 estimation.
  7. Your all sat here mocking, but maybe you should look at how some companies actually work with cranks. Ask Full Race how they do theirs
  8. There's no problem with polishing a crank with sandpaper providing that the crank is continuously rotated ie when its on a dynamic balancer.
  9. For road use a helical type LSD is best, for track use a clutch type is best.
  10. Has been done a few times, although the cost outlay of replacing parts for some noise isn't justifiable in most peoples eyes. You'll go through turbo's and valve seats like there's no tomorrow. So unless the motor is one which is regularly inspected I wouldn't bother.
  11. The EP3 is a tad faster, handles better and has more tuning options, with parts that aren't all that expensive even from Honda themselves. If you miss a gear in either it could be deadly, the OEM Honda timing chain tensioners have known to become a bit on the loose side however depends how well its been serviced. The Corolla does have the better interior or better options as standard, depends what you want from the car really. A EP3 is like a race car for the road, very little torque low down and the short ratio 6 speed box can become tiresome, but does come alive when giving it the beans.
