  13. Boost Gauge This is how i fitted my AutoGauge Smoked Boost Gauge to my '93 EP82 Sorry this is going to be a bit vague and the pics are crap due to the digital camera being on holiday with my folks so these are taken off my phone, but hey it's better then nuthing... okay, first off you need to fit the T-fitting into the vacume line! like this: (better image thanks to GoldenVTR) Note: it is easier to slide the hose onto the T-fitting if you put the end into a cup of hot water for a few seconds, making sure to flick out any water. small cable-ties have been used to insure things stay where thet are. Then you need to get the hose from the T-fitting into the cabin, for mine i used the gromit in the firewall, making a small hole in it using a nail. I then cut a small section out of a cheap pen and wedged that into the hole so that the hose could slide through and not be squished. like this: I then fed the hose along underneath the dash, above the pedal machanics (Which are sharp so be careful) and up into my pillerpod, then secured the hose onto my gauge. Note: by removing the lower part of the dash this is alot easier!! it's held on by 5 screws that are quite easy to locate. Next for the electrics, my gauge is a smoked one so it had x3 wires: One to go the the ignition, one for earth and one to be wired into the lights. the earth i quite simply just attached to the closed earthing point, this being a screw that went into the chassis underneath the dash. for the ingition i took this from the original toyota radio (for instructions on how to get to the headunit wired please see Robbo's HeadUnit Post) i used a voltmeter to find out which wire it was, as you can see from the pic below it was the big red wire in the wireblock (the yellow wire is what i spliced into it but a scotchlock would be better) (sorry again for the crap pics) Now for the Smoked style gauge it requires a dimmer wire to be hooked up into the lights so that it dosn't dazzle you at night, i also wired this up to the original radio! It was the green wire (as shown below) in the block plug that goes into the back of the headunit. then i just ran the wires under the dash and up the pillerpod to the gauge. Walla!! as i said, i'm sorry the pics pretty crap and the discription a bit vauge, but if anyone has anything they feel they'd like to add then please be my guest!
  14. hiya guys, fitted my Braided lines, 3G Discs & Mintex Extreme Pads today, thought I would make a tutorial while I was at it. ;) okay a few things first, this is how I fitted my lines, discs & pads to my '93 EP82, if you feel I have left something out or feel you would like to add anything then please feel free to U2U me. secondly this was my first time fitting lines, discs & pads so bare with me lol okay to begin with, the tools I used for the job: 14mm spanner 10 " " 12 " " 17 " " 4 " " Mole Grips G-Clamp Brake Bleeding kit Jack bit of wood Axle Stand small brush WD40 x2 Cable Ties small tub Here's a few pics of the parts, Braided Lines: 3G 10 groove Discs: Mintex Extreme Pads: Right, now we are all tooled up and ready to start, here's a before pic: First off you need to jack the car up, this might seem a bit patronizing to some, but hey it's my tutorial ;) Make sure you loosen your wheel nuts before jacking. Here's how I jacked up my GT: note the bit of wood distributing the weight & alloy under the car incase something goes wrong. Here's where I put the Axle Stand: Now it's safe to take the wheel off. Braided Lines Right, onto the fitting of the lines, this is a pic of what the Std Lines look like. These are the two places that the Lines are connected. before you undo them, give them a spray with WD40 and a scrub with a small brush to get rid of any crap that might fall into the new lines. like so. Before you undo anything at this stage I put down some cardboard and got my small tub at the ready for any drips. start off by undoing the caliper bolt, this is with a 14mm spanner, clockwise. once this is off I clamped the line with the Mole Grips to stop the line dripping. I then put the washers on the new lines and gave then a little brake fluid for lube. attach this end to the end you have just taken off so that when the other end is taken off your ready to put it straight on with little mess. Now you need to remove the little Circlip Iâ??m pointing too, looks like this when off, then use the 17mm spanner to hold the line still and undo the other side with a 10mm spanner, clockwise. replace with new lead and tighten up. I found with the circlip that when I went to replace it, the gap on the new lines was a little larger, so I put a little kink in it as you'll see in the next pic for a snug fit. Lines are now done. Discs & Pads Right, onto the discs & pads, what I did first was to undo the top bolt with a 12mm spanner, clockwise. this then drops down so that you can remove the old pads, keeping hold of the metal shims, Then undo the x2 bolts that hold on the caliper with a 17mm spanner, clockwise. with this the old disc should just pull off, might need a little tap. then on with the new sexy discs. Next you need to push the piston back in on the caliper, for this I used a G-Clamp. then put the caliper back on. now put the metal shims onto the new pads, using the clips provided for the front pad. (note on the Mintex Extreme pads there's an adhesive strip to stick to these, so make sure you clean them first) (also note your hands shouldn't be covered in grease when handling the pads ) Put the new pads in and reassemble, note, the grooves in these discs are directional and can go either way, decide before you fit them which way you'd like them, I changed my mind after fitting so they now look like this. (note: i used cable ties to secure the lines to the D2 metal bit to keep the lines clear because they wouldn't stay) then bleed the whole system, using either 4DOT or 5.1DOT. take a photo now replace Alloys (note: now follow the bedding in instructions provided with the Pads) Hope this helps a few of you guys. ;) Ryan

most of it's just banter, end of the day if you take what people say on the internet to heart then you really need to turn your comp off and go out more everyone has diffrent opinions and as long as there are car forums and users, people are more the likely to express them. there isn't a fine line between true enthusiasts and bandwagon jumpers, you soon work out who knows their stuff and who chats shit, i for one just ignore what certain members say and read what i need to know/want to read! call me ignorant if you want, it's the internet so i really don't care
  17. hehe
  18. i spy with my little eye, something beginning in 'F'.......and ending in 'lare' congrats
  19. Happy B-day Shelbo & Starletboy! don't eat too much jelly & icecream!
  20. first pic is of the std re-circ. valve, can just take it off and replace it with a blanking plate/2p etc pipe in your hand is the vac. hose that went into that and should go into your BOV/Dumpvalve second pic is what i assume your bov, alough i'm not quite sure why the std re-circ. valve is still plumbed in in that fashion AND more to the point is that you MBC/bleed valve seems to not be plumbed in. that'd be why your boosting that way and get a huge hiss from the front if it! or is it just a huge hoop? any better pics? just to compair here's a pic of my bay..
  21. your not gonna put any fiberglass on her are you?
