  1. Got round to taking some pics of the parcel shelf/speaker set up aka the stealth shelf it cost and £10 in total to make and seemed like a good idea as my car is obviously attracting the attention of the scum that kicks about round here. Also the guy who had it before me made a complete mess of cutting hole in it for his shoddy 6x9's and he ended up cutting them too big so any speakers i put in there just fell into the boot, mega annoying and was wrecking the terminals on my speakers. Basically, cut some mdf to fit in either side of the parcel shelf. Screwed the wood onto the top of the she
  2. yup magnecores, any mounts that aren't as fucked as mine would be good, fuel rail adaptors can be queer little buggers, i want one that sits into the rail not just bolts on the end of it but even so they're only about £15 off ebay. clutch wise i can't really afford to spend loads, everything on this car was either dirt cheap or from scrapyard lol. how much do the ACT one's sell at? found a exedy organic one for £120. i'd love a tubular one, but i don't really want to spend alot on the ct9 setup if i'm going TD04 in 6 months time :/ hmmmm. and yup i love the oem one's they look awesome im
  3. yeah me too i've got a decent alarm, just not had the money to have it fitted yet (not even got prices yet) but i'm thinking i might have to put other things on the waiting list and get the alarm fitted. Things that are on the list that i will be after are; - set of ht leads and king lead - decent set of engine/gearbox mounts - fuel rail adaptor - clutch - standard exhaust manifold that isn't cracked - rear strut brace Not spending a lot on the ct9 setup because i'm hoping to go TD04 or T25 in summer and i have lowering springs so it will be lowered as soon as the weather starts picking
  4. very nice! those seats are gorgeous, my bloke has them in his almera gti, and i want him to donate them while she's off the road lol. As for insurance, if your willing to pay it and think its worth it then it doesn't matter i suppose. im 20 and have 3 years no claims and i'm paying £650 for mine so hopefully will drop right off after your first year
  5. Stayed at Sam's last night and when i went out to my car someone has scratched and put loads of small dents in the offside rear quarter the bastards. nothing major just mega pissed me off, not the first time people have scratched my car overnight in the lovely area that is Bilton Grange.... i'll try and get some pics to put up but i don't think it will show in the pics. On the upside i've finally fitted some new ripspeed speakers in the front (on offer atm in halfords for £10 ) and some vibe 6x9's in the parcel shelf. wrapped the parcel shelf in black fabric to make a stealth shelf, will
  6. sounds awesome! i'd love some of those gauges
  7. ooohhh your advance was awesome! i want gold wheels on mine and after seeing that i think i'll keep my eye out for some. New gt looks clean!
  8. may be wrong but i think he works at the hull euro car parts, bought it not so long ago off a girl called fran i think if it's the one i'm thinking of
  9. Right! been really busy with uni and work and everything else but still managed to crack on with a few bits on the wee starlet! Flushed the engine and dropped the oil and changed the oil filter a few months ago in preparation for winter, the oil that came out wasn't like tar but she was very grateful to have some fresh oil, tappets quietened down a fair bit and just seemed to run better all round. Got her on a ramp and cracked on with the handbrake cables, rear calipers, cleaning up rear discs and swapping all the brake pads; Not long after the oil and filter change came the cambelt kit.
  10. i don't have any tonsils i'll have to have a go at sam's mmmmmmmmm nom nom nom nom!!!!
  11. When i got my GT it did exactly the same as this. idle was about 1200rpm, temp dropped to cold as soon as i drove it, but when just sat with it ticking over it slowly got up to temp and the idle dropped a bit. Turned out the thermostat was stuck open, idle control valve and sensors were all fine was just the thermostat. £20 off ebay or £10 from euro car parts and it only takes like 5 mins ;) i would definitely try changing the thermostat before doing anything with the sensors or idle control valve
  12. the almera is beasty but your name should be yellowvitara4u2. you need to get some pics of the JAE 2011 Suzuki show and shine winner up
  13. 36 inches is only a guideline- they say that because the closer you put it to the engine, the more turbulent the gases are and hence the reading from the sensor may be affected. But you do get a more true reading of the exhaust gas mixture the closer you put it to the engine. I work with these type of sensors at uni, and they can be sensitive to knocks and bumps so bear that in mind when you decide where to put it
  14. wing going on in the next few days hopefully getting her up on a ramp on friday evening to sort all the underneathy bits out- handbrake cables, wrap the exhaust, brake pads and swap rear callipers, underseal the shit out of it and if i've got time will see about doing the wing and bonnet cable while were at it ;) so hopefully will be able to update soon with some pics of it looking damn fine ;) i miss that knob (thats what she said) but this new one is growing on me (that's also what she said)
  15. In the downpipe, where the normal lambda is. Basically after the turbo, keeping as few gaskets between the turbo and sensor as possible
  16. I love this GT! and the gearknob looks good glad your happy with it, it will be more appreciated with you i'm sure. thanks for the wing and trd gear knob, i'm so excited to get the wing fitted eeee! get rid of the ugly rusty bit. Keep up the hunt, and let me know if you find out what that little toyota card is on my door, i'm now wondering what it could be haha
  17. Little update! Went up to sheffield on saturday to grab a few more bits and ended up coming back with - ARC tmic (early christmas present off sam- thank you!) - bonnet cable (so i can finally get rid of the ugly tie wrap in the grill) - handbrake cables - din tray for when i finally get round to getting an english stereo - flat blade wiper adaptors - brand new front and rear blueprint brake pads - brand new oil filter - new scuttle panel because mine was cracked - near rear view mirror - another resistor card for the heater motor Also took a bimble across the water to Cleethorpes to meet
  18. cheers dude! loved the optional extra beast! love the colour so much see you soon hopefully x
  19. At what point have i mentioned anywhere that it was you saying it came with LSD? it's a common misconception and a lot of people just assume they come with it as standard. And as i've said, i don't know until i get a boost gauge on it what it's actually boosting, but i'm taking a stab in the dark and saying it's not standard boost. I may be wrong, don't know yet. Don't worry, it will fuck up sooner or later then everyone can have a little giggle behind my back, well those who seem to have a problem can anyway.
  20. Yeah keep me in mind, i'll be interested Fair few little bits like fuse card for heater motor and rear view mirror and random stuff like that, but got an arc tmic for £50 and it's pretty much mint. brand new toyota brake pads all round and toyota oil filter, new scuttle panel because mine is jaff'd, bonnet cable and handbrake cables so i'll be able to park my car safely on hills now haha, loads of other random little bits too
