Sr bottom hose not getting hot.. Bled system
rmsnoel replied to Ashley-starlet's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
If your temp guage isnt rising then theres a fair chance.the thermo is stuck open, or failed. I would go with an.air pocket.though. When shes.cold take off the radiator cap and allow her to warm up whilst squeezing hoses to clear bubbles etc. look doen at the waterpump woth a torch because if the pump fails it has wee weep holes that leak to alert u to the problem, thank you mr toyota. by the way my bottom jose doesnt warm in this cold weather either -
Spoonsies ols SR but not his orange superlites as there in my garage. Looks well lad though not keem on the smoked lights
-
Tidy looking glanza rep, electric mirrors etc. The lad says someone tried to steal it but he has the new parts to fix. £700

U can buy the clear lenses, just the lens from toyota. Part numbers exists on here somewhere
-
I have a standard 5efe ecu u can have if u want. Will keep your fuelling right

If u push the door lock button on the driver door beside the window switch u can here if a relay or motor arnt working. Also the locks dry up over time, especially the boot. Repeated sprays of wd40 or other oil with a straw fitting on the nozzle frees them up. 1 or 2 squirts them leave it a day. Badly siezed bootlocks can be soaked in 3in1 oil. Watch for bad earths around the door sills near where the door loom plugs in. the remote central locking and alarm loom on a paseo would be.handy put in a Sr

What wheel size and iffset do you plan to use azerty. I used 15x7 et38 with a arch to hubcentre of 330mm for a nicely filled arch and extreme cornering forces with a whiteline'd ep91. A neighbour of mine has 13x7 et5 superlites and slammed to the ground. it tramlines little but he.drives slow because of the rideheight

exhaust length calculator. help needed 4-2-1
rmsnoel replied to rmsnoel's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust

Ive a 5efhe manifold to fit to my 4e. i dont have the downpipe 2-1 section but the exhaust guy in work was more than happy to make it up. My question us the 4efe has a few inches of secondary pipe whereas the 5efhe has almost 12-14 inches of pipe. Do any of you guys study motorsport fancy calculating primary and secondary lengths for a 4efe for mid-range performance. The size of the collector pipe - Where the exhaust pipes all converge - is also important. It doesn't matter how many cylinders the engine has, or how large it is; It all depends on airflow. From the same magazine as I got the inlet length diagram, I also have one for the exhaust. It's used the same way, but you need to find out the number of degrees your cams have between when the exhaust opens to when the inlet opens, then read up to the revs, then to the numbers on the left hand side, which give you the length of the exhaust in feet. Another example, the same 4AGE as I mentioned before, you'd want the effective exhaust length (The distance from the middle of the exhaust valve to the first muffler) to be about 3 3/4' long. With the length of the individual pipes coming from the head, a good rule-of-thumb for a 4-2-1 system is to make the 2-1 pipes (called the 'secondaries') join together at about half the distance that you've calculated in the above diagram. The 4-2 pipes (called the 'primaries) should be half that again. With a 4-1 system, make all the primary pipes half the length in the diagram. If your engine makes 200hp, then you'll need about a 2 1/4" ID pipe, and with more power you'll need a bigger ID pipe, of course. Turbo engines are a different beast, however - Bigger is (usually) better! With any turbo engine of reasonable power you'd have to think about a 3" pipe, perhaps larger ... In any case, the tip of the exhaust should exit at a point where there is a low pressure region to minimise back pressure. It's a cheap form of weak turbocharging.

Either lad would be grand but a 10 worked better on a cold engine. change oil every year. . At 115k hold.open your tb and using 1finger and a old rag give it a wee clean. Dont use engine flush. Clean throttlebody and check pcv valve by pulling it from the rocker cover with engine running and revs should jump. Next check.the idle.valve. It sticks easily and causes judder. with your airbox pipe off and engine running pull.the plug off tje sensor.on.bottom of tb. yoir revs should rise. Finally, with engine running and everything normal, unscrew oil cap. your revs shouldnt change. cover oil cap hole and uncover a few times. This.tests your piston rings and breater pipes. Apart frim cleaning your distributor cap pins and replacing or.testing.your air temp sensor you engine should be grand for another 20k

Corolla inlet, what throttle body is best?
rmsnoel replied to dan106's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
does anyone have a rolla manifold off the car they could measure the tb port for me. In mm cheers I dont want to take my tb off and bust the sealer. Also my mpg has went from 150 to 170+ per £30 mines an auto so its sore on juice compared to manual -
you can try the round shaped rubber or poly exhaust hangers instead of the oval shape. hole centres are closer together and give it that little lift. I also bend.the front and maybe rear hangers using the ring of a spanner. dont use a hammer. It wouldnt be a starlet if the exhaust didnt bang..

good thread.. wonder what enzo's rev limit was and if was ever dyno'd. @Raffa your torque curve is.brilliant for such simple mods. I made 95 at the fly with rolla manifold gutted cat and tte backbox but my low range torque had a huge dip around 2500-3000rpm.
-
anyone running a 50mm throttlebody on a standard 4efe manifold or rolla manifold.
-
Does anyone have the gen1 v's gen 2 4efe dyno image.that was on uksc back in the day. It showed.the.gen1 as all grunt no go until very high revs and.it showed grn2 like we have in starlets as a fairly high torque unit.

Remember that only the 1993-1995 5efhe had.the.high lift cams, all the rest had same cams.profiles.although.lots of different partnumbers. Can a mod ppease clean this thread to reflect facts only

Harder than I thought, big breakers closed.over.christmas

Thanks lad but I prefer collection. Building an internet car is boring lol.

Id be checkin the lead from ignitor.to.dis

Black fuel soaked.plugs.dont.sound.good. Lad take.your.car to someone who knows. Parts arnt meant to.work loose so sounds like diy.isnt over your mates.head. No offence but.it.isnt safe for other roadusers
