Tein springs from camskill.co.uk Do nt buy apex or Pi or other cheap springs. I loved apex springs they were great but after my second set scagged Im only buying the few quid dearer but much better top of the range springs. I would highly reccomend your dad buys meiter coilovers for £600. They'll last forever and are cheap to rebuild and have local, club-based support. Smiles per miles the ride is more like a 2005 car instead of a 1994 car on lowering springs.

MY experience of tein was a guy spending £1200 on coilovers then when he wanted them rebuld he was told to just buy a new set it would be cheaper. Not cool..

I would imagine that 69bhp is at the wheels of the paseo and the 90hp on the starlet is at the flywheel. Paseo is much faster, very aerodynamic and accepts all the mods a starlet will and looks better doing it lol.

The greatest thing you will ever buy for your car. Get panhard rod aswell, or if your strapped for cash get panhard rod first. The panhard rod stops the back end skipping, but its adjustable, meaning you can move the rear axle left or right abit. You'll want to set this first before you fit the anti-roll bar

Remember there is abit of camber adjustment at the base of your shocks. I have a camber guage but before I had that i used a sprit level and various thickness of drill bits to measure my camber. -1 degree of camber is a good start point, anymore than that you start to loose your braking and grip. Remember its all about keepin as much tyre on the road as possible during whatever type of driving YOU normally do

APEX, no!! If there yellow there too damn soft. You can compress them by hand. BUMPSTOP BANDITS

Buy them and try them. You can always sell them on for what you paid for them. Keep your standard suspension and fit your trd coilovers. You should be able to do it in a hour. Then get your wheels aligned, making a note of where there set at now so you can change it back if you want. I went from TTE springs and new kyb shocks to TRD coilovers. Turned a 30mph roundabout into a 55mph ring of fire. I was able to feather the throttle on and off to slide around it. My coilovers where secondhand and one of them was bust. They ARE NOT for uk roads unless you only lap around town or drive on nice

Fitting A Glanza Front Strut Brace
rmsnoel replied to Emma_SR's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
Then it vibrates on the strut brace and wears away. I always find that when giving advice online, make it a idiot proof as possible. Emma SR maynot be an idiot but the next person to read this may be a complete idiot There are also 2 types of fuelfilter and one sits alittle higher than the other. You also shouldnt put much stress on your fuel line. -
Would It Be Worth Building A 4efe?
rmsnoel replied to The Toffinator's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
The standard airbox routes air from the front of the car and into the manifold and nice and cool. It also holds the air tempature sensor nicely in place. Most people fit a airfilter cone and because of the sound and the butt-dyno they think they have a monster. The corolla uses a airbox and it still has 86bhp so just use coroll amanifold and your own airbox, you'll still have 86bhp and lots of torque. Remember torque is from the restriction on the inlet of air. I put a tiny cone filter on a 5efe and got 130ftlbs of torque, similar to a 4efte -
Fitting A Glanza Front Strut Brace
rmsnoel replied to Emma_SR's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
To update this thread. A fuelfilter bolted to the fuel line unsupported isnt a good idea. Petrol causes fires. If fitting a standard glanza or gt to a n/a simple hammer a dent into the rear of the strutbrace were it meets the top of the fuel filter. This dent wont affect your handling -
Would It Be Worth Building A 4efe?
rmsnoel replied to The Toffinator's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
a 4efe with corolla manifold AND standard airbox including air temp sensor is a must. Fair enough you'll only have 95bhp like I had with my tte backbox but your torque curve will be smooth and constant. Instead of the jump, die about 2.5 then pick up again at about 3.5k that standard ep91 have. Fresh cheap oil is fine with a £2 oilfilter. If your not burning oil and your compression is nice and high between 180psi and 220psi you'll be 100% -
@@ Enzo, if you push rope into the sprkplug holes and hold turn on the engine you can get a ford ohv valve spring tool for a tenner.

Would It Be Worth Building A 4efe?
rmsnoel replied to The Toffinator's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
£3-400 to port the head, £100 for gaskets and rings, £300 for emanage, £150 to get it tuned no its not worth it. The thing I love about 4efe is engines are from granny cars, have very low miles and are common and cheap. I buy 4efe's with 3-40k miles from scrappage scheme cars for £100 with everything attached. After 4years I can swap engines in 35minutes. Buy cheap 4efe and rage the hell out of it, then when it dies get another one. You'll be the fastest man about. -
The high and steady torque curve is due to the 45mm TB, much netter than the lower weak ep82 one man. I had 7afe 50mm and you could feel and see the difference, you could really feel the dip at 3500k. I weighed the SR at the skip it was 940kg and my standard sportif was 860kg before I stripped it out. EP91 seat runners weigh 6.4kg, gt seats are 4kgish total. The ep91 can be stripped as well as the ep82, weight difference is largely due to interior trim. I measured 4efte valve lift at 7.2mm, havnt measured 4efe yet altough seen it quoted at 6.2? Id love a crystal, could trade for my ep85 100ps

Matt black insulating tape over your grill and bumper 'teeth' make a massive different to the look of the front and no-one would ever notice the tape. Look at my avatar picture. Have you a rev counter. I like this starlet so much I'll donate and fit SR or Paseo clocks if you want them.

Looks deadly lad. Wish I still had my white one always wanted superlites. Lowered til the balls lol.

Sounds like a clutch release bearing in its last moments of life. Get it changed soon rather than later. Mine always made noise but it never bothered me until my latest starlet, when that one seased on the sleave where it sits on the gearbox. It then over heated, broke my clutch this then made my gearbox scrap. Early C52 gearbox the realease bearing sleeve runner thing was bolted to the g/box housing but Later bearing sleeves are cast to the gearbox so unless you have a spare 4x4 box lying around I' change yours. Mine is an extreme case and yours my well last another two years, but if its rea

Youtube. 'Paseo top speed run' is my paseo run through all the gears. Paseo gearbox with 14inch wheels it topped out at 130mph odd lol because 5efe has 5500rpm limit in 5th. Although same wheels same gearbox with my 4efe hit 145mph on the same road before the 6500 rev limit. www.gearboxman.com and use the gear ration calculator thing to compare rpm at 70mph. Or the easiest option of all, buy 17inch wheels or best option find 6speed corolla gearbox, pleae dont pay £300 for it off ebay.
-
Your N/A would be so slow with a glanza gearbox, it would take you hours to get to 70mph. Consider paseo gearbox although the rpm difference is not great. Also some SR starlets seem to have different gear ratios too Gear ratio data All figures are taken from official Toyota source material that is sitting on the desk beside me here. I apologise in advance if I have made any errors. Taken from Jaystarr thread on tgtt.. 1996 UKDM 4EFE (C154?) 1st : 3.545 2nd : 1.904 3rd : 1.310 4th : 1.031 5th : 0.864 Differential ratio : 3.722 EP81/Corolla EE101 EU model (C150) AND PASEO EL54 1st : 3,545 2

Their a little bit girly lookin man, I'd be worried about puttin them on my car, what about something that says this is a car club sticker not a man-ho website kinda thing. Maybe PASEO PIMP in manly font and a paseo ghosted in the background. Love the colours though,

N/a Block Can It Used For Turbo Engine
rmsnoel replied to joel_ep91's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
wikipedia is shit. IOt was written by a 13year old school boy copying wrong figure from the net Its always wrong. Some 4efe have fte stamped cranks, only real difference is the three holes you need to tap into block at oil filter to hold fte sandwich plate although you dont have to. Even the casting for the knock sensor is on the back of the block, there all the bloody samee as far as im concerned. Plus you'll always find a 31,000miles from new granny spec 4efe in breakers yard to build with. Use NEW toyota pistons -

Getting 60 In Second On Uk Spec Starlet Na
rmsnoel replied to a topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
All our Sportif and SR do 60mph with 195.45.15 rims as per the SR Paseo has same first 3 ratios as starlet with shorter final drive giving 25mph 55mph and 80mph with much more lift although starlet box suits powerband of the 4efe much better. 4 and 5th in paseo box are different to give same speeds as starlet along with the final drive. a 4efe with a paseo box can crack 130mph due to 6500 rev limit opposed to paseo's 5500rpm in top gears
