patman
Could anyone please help, bearing in mind I'm one of the older ones on here, I was a late starter with cars, due to always being involved with 2 wheels not 4, anyway to cut this short, I've just had my renewal insurance through and it's just over £230 more than last year, what the actual foooook, I have 4 years no claims, same car nothing's changed, anyone else had this problem? By the way I am with Aviva as they were the cheapest last year for me out of the lot of them, so quoted £652 with slight mods on car, at my age, maybe I'm missing something here. Thanks Pat
morgey
Loads of companies bump up the price for some reason, probably in the hope you'll just accept it and pay. Id try greenlight they gave me the cheapest price they could first call. I know this as i rung around a few others and got one £15 cheaper else where and tried to get them to match and they couldnt. But they offered easy track cover so i went with them anyway.
patman
Thanks morgey I'm just thinking it's taking the absolute MICK that's all, I get it going up alittle bit but that price is ridiculous 👍🏻
daniel_g
Tell Aviva to take a fuck to themselves! Most insurance companies are just out to get your cash, and because its the law to have insurance they can charge what they want.Saying that.. some are helpful, hopefully Mr Greenlight on here will sort you out a good quote
patman
Tell me about it Daniel mate, this isn't about me being tight, as you know, it's taking the piss, I wouldn't mind if I was in early 20's but compared to most on here, I'm a pensioner 👍🏻
-Jake-
£230 on top is pure extortion! Sky are generally pretty good for modded car's as they don't charge extra for modifications. I call my current company when the renewal letter comes and say I've found cheaper elsewhere then see what they are willing to go down to before shopping around. StuDoc 72
Everyone should change their provider every single year or at least shop about. Its liek anything new customers get the best deals they hope people will just be lazy or forget and just let it roll over so get on compare the market and get a fresh quote also ring up the specialist providers and check with them too. TimD
Try a specialist insurance broker like Flux, especially if your car is modified you'd might be surprised at the outcome.

You dont need to do it all online, its not a waste of time at all I had my best quotes from there a couple of years.

Ollieh17
They basically trapped me. Tried to cancel the policy just past two weeks. Tried to charge me £500 to cancel it!! So i thought ill swap the car over they wanted £1500 (everywhere else wanted £600) so got another car £1000 to insure this one(everywhere else £400). When my policy finished they sent me an email saying i had 0 no claims despite starting the policy with two. They then fucked up the no claims proof 3 times!!! Missold me countless policies such as misfuel key car etc that i never asked for and wasnt advised was optional. Tried to cancel them and was told i couldnt say asked for a copy of my orginal phonecall they said i couldnt have it because of data protection Im not the only one not happy. Google is full of negative stories about flux

Google is full of negative stories about flux Had a similar issue with flux, tried to cancel a policy halfway because I got a much cheaper quote from greenlight. Flux wanted to charge me through the nose for it but couldn't actually explain why so I refused to pay it, hours of phone calls till they agreed. Total nightmare, I'd paid like 7 months of the policy and was trying to cancel at the start of the 5th month so was expecting a refund. With herts now who have been really good so far, left greenlight because they couldn't add my other half on the policy because she didn't have experience with driving a "high performance car", aside from that I didn't have any issues with them
MARC MOSS
Greenlight all the way, my dc2 is only £274 fully comp with every mod declared , 140 cheaper than admiral were when the car was stock
mart1
Flux have been great with me, put a couple of mods on my car recently, updated flux with the mods and my policy stayed the same. I have heard though of people having problems with them, like they are OK up until you cancel.
patman
Have any of you guys got a round 4 years no claims, and alit older then most on here so we are talking late 20's all 30's even 40's?

Coilovers brakes, braces, interior change, wheels, bunch of optional extras. Flux wanted 460 and loads of proof with pics of the car with the mods etcSky were £360 but i went with greenlight as i can ring up quote my policy pay £45 and i have fully comp track day cover.
