TBDevelopments
ok buddy well for everyday reliability the most i'd go on the stock internals is 320bhp which is around the limits of the stock fuel injectors anyway, which is doable on the standard ct20b. the gt2860rs will make that power with a little less boost around 1.1bar but make alot more torque in the midrange. The Td06 is really a very oldschool turbo now and not used that much on the mr2, unless your cheaping out, but again there a 380bhp turbo and very laggy for what they are, in comparison a gt3071r will make 100bhp more top end and spool 500rpm sooner.the rev 4 block isn't actually any stronger than the rev 3's, there was lots of talk of thickwall blocks etc but i've built loads and ultrasonic test them as a standard proceedure and i've never come across them being any stronger, alot of it was a marketing ploy by another tuning company to sell rev 4 bare blocks for £1000 at a time. But don't worry you tune it right the block will be fine were've had 955bhp out of one so far and its not cracked (although have cracked a couple on the road to getting to that power)as for boost controllers go for the avcr or the blitz dsbc i find works very well, i try and steer away from the profec-b's there cheap and simple but had a few issues with them in the past.Any reason why you want a greddy type s? they sound a bit weak and squeeky on the ones i've played with, also prone to leaking if your after a greddy bov the newer RS model or the brand new RZ versions which have had the leaking issue resolved but sound the same.Hope that helps TimTB Developments
TBDevelopments
sorry my mistake you were saying about swapping the hks version 3 for a greddy bov, sorry i thought you were talking about EBC's for second then lolany reasons why you don't like the hks? its a much better bov and prietty much leak proofTimTB Developments
Glanza_cl
so far i'm at 303bhp which is pretty dam good but just for pure reliabilty i didnt want to push the ct20 to far (to much boost and ceramic blades= dam times:()the reason i want the type S is the sound... i love it to bits, thats funny psshhh and whissle sound.had a hks on the glanza and now this and just need a change.got a evcr and cant say i'm a great fan, awesome controler but hard to work, plus you cant actualy put in a boost value, and havnt found any sort of gain function yet. best i had was the HKS EVC6 that was the absolute tits! such a good controler.what would you say next step it? looking through my spec... remap? give it another 20bhp maybe, give or take?
TBDevelopments
well 303bhp is very good for your mods, a little to good to be honest so either the dyno is out or you'll find your base timing is advanced a tiny bit or there is a sandwich board inside the ecu. saying that your torque is down a little as well, normally on the stock setup you'll find the torque will match the bhp so going from the norm you up about 20bhp on average but down 20ftlbswell the ct20b is reliable to 1.2bar, just don't go over that. I must have done hundreds of gen 3+'s with these mods and there everyday reliable and max the stock fueling out. Although like you say ceramic isn't the best so a GT range turbo would be good its just alot of money really.what issues you have with the avcr? there piss easy to work go into settings and there is a boost value, like 1.2bar, and duty. the duty will raise hte boost level, once you get within a few % it'll turn to **** this means its gone into fuzzy logic and automatically sets the gain for you for best responce.as for future mods you have a decat on there?TimTB Developments
